Halloween idea

After watching many Youtube videos last Halloween, I kept coming back to one in particular because it was just so bloody cool! It was Petrilude's Unzipped tutorial found here and it is amaaaaazing! I went to a party with this makeup on and everyone was suitably grossed out by my eye and kept asking me if it hurt :)

Nice, right?! I didn't want to buy more makeup just for this one night, so I raided my stash, and all it took was a Rimmel red lip liner, a black eyeliner, red lip gloss, Benefit's Benetint to make little droplets of blood, eyelash glue and of course the zip!  It didnt take that long to do and it didn't stain my face afterwards.

I'm not sure what I'll do this year for Halloween, I have a Geisha costume so maybe that, but I just watched a video of someone doing Anime eyes and it looks deadly, so might try that, here's the link. Will do some more research over the weekend and post my inspiration :)

Bargain Alert!

Well I was having a look in TK Max in Blanchardstown for curtains, as you do, and of course had to peruse the cosmetics section.  Now I am not one for rooting through racks and racks of clothes, I don't have the patience, but give me a few display stands of anything beauty related and I'm a happy chappy.

So this is what I found:

Maybelline Blush, Stila Eyeshadows

Maybelline Pure Blush Mineral in 30 Plum Alchemy and 40 Quartz Peach

Stila eyeshadows in illimani, sajama, champara

The blushes had an RRP of €7.50 and I got them for €3.99 each.  The eyeshadows had an RRP of €13.75 and I paid €3.99 for them.

I'll hopefully swatch them all tomorrow in daylight and post some photos.

I love a bargain!!!

I heart Lush Marilyn

I absolutely love this stuff.  It's meant to be for "blondes who would like to stay blonde and become even more so, in a gentle, shiny and natural way."  When I used this treatment before, I had dark brown hair and it made my hair unbelievably shiny and healthy looking.  Everyone at work asked me if I had gotten my hair done, to which I smugly replied "Oh do you like it? I just washed my hair and this is what happened!"  They didn't need to know I had found the holy grail of hair treatments :)

I plopped about quarter of the tub into my dry hair and spread it throughout as best I could.  I then put on a rather fetching shower cap, and pootled around the house for half an hour, hoping my hair was enjoying the treatment.  I then washed and conditioned my hair as normal, and as I dried it, I couldn't get over the shine.  Me likey shiny hair, but when me was blonde, me could never get proper shine.  Now that my hair has lightened a good bit, I think I shall have to treat myself to another pot of this (rather expensive but totally worth it) goodness.

Highly recommended, A+

Anything else from Lush I should try?

The list

So I keep a list in my phone of all beauty related items that I want to either check out, or straight up buy right away. I thought it was just me who did that until I read a post on www.makeupandbeauty.ie a while back, and all was right with the world when I found out there are others like me!

I will now reveal this list which, as it happens, I haven't really added to in a while. As I buy or swatch or decide I don't want the item, it is deleted from The List and I continue on as so.

Ahem...

Mac lipsticks in Jazzed and Call my Bluff
Illamasqua Light Liquid Foundation
Maybelline Colour Sensational Warm Me Up Lipstick #235
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer
Urban Decay Rush Lipstick
Mac Lipsticks in Freckletone and Hue
Maybelline Caramel Kiss Lipstick
Lancome Voile De Rose Lipstick (cannot find anywhere)
Mac Cream Colour Base in Hush
Lush Marilyn Hair Treatment
Loreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara

Looking at this list now as I type it out, I've noticed that I've a lot of lipsticks on there, which is weird, since I'm not a big lipstick person :) I'm on the hunt for the eternal perfect nude lip. I remember living in Canada circa 2002 and watching Much Music where Jennifer Lopez was on it. Now, I look nothing like JLo, but she had a perfect nude lip then, so I will continue my search for one that suits me!

My first post :)

Well, I've been hmming and hawing for months about whether I should start a blog or not, so I figured why not? I love everything to do with makeup, cosmetics, skin care, hair care and basically all things lovely and girlie, so since not very many of my friends or family share this interest, I thought I would reach out to the blogging world and make my mark :)

I'm from Dublin, Ireland and have to make do with shops like Boots and Superdrug for most of my purchases. The recession has bitten us all on our behinds, so I love finding a bargain and will share them as I find them.

That's it for now, will write more soon.
