Loving my new hair products!!

I mentioned last month that I was given some products to try out by the lovely Adele from Hair Crazy in Santry and I now have some new loves that I feel I need to tell you all about.

One of the products I was most excited/nervous to try out was the colouring conditioner.  The full name is Vitality's espresso colouring conditioner and this bottle costs €9.99.  I must say, I'd never heard of such a thing before and was very intrigued.  I explained to Adele that I'm usually a mousey brown colour and had been using dye on my hair to darken it until last May.  I've been trying to figure out what I want to do with my hair and this seemed like the perfect solution.  Some colour that's temporary and gives me shine, good enough for me :)

The instructions say to use plastic gloves and not to let the conditioner touch your skin.  I got some gloves from work and got going.  The conditioner has the look and feel of chocolate syrup, yum!  I have medium length hair and I'd say I used about 4 to 5 pumps of the conditioner.  Because I had the gloves on it was hard to feel if I had enough on, so I let it sit for about 3 minutes with my head over the side of the bath.  Doing this on a school night was very brave considering I could have been left with the dreaded dye marks all over my skin!  After the 3 minutes were up, I rinsed my hair until the water ran clear and I set about drying my hair, hoping for the best.

Here's a before and after photo to see the difference:

Left is before and right is after.
I love this stuff!  It added warmth to my hair and gorgeous shine too.  I'm going to see how it does over the next couple of days colour wise and when I feel like I need to use it again.  My hair was left silky and soft and some of the girls at work commented on my new hair :)  The conditioner comes in lots of different colours, so no worries trying to find something that works for you.

Now, along with using the colouring conditioner, I also used this little baby and I am in love.

This is from the Lakme range and is a brushing lotion, giving thickness and volume.  Never had I heard of a brushing lotion but off I set in the hopes of getting nice, shiny hair.  Now, I must give you a back story here.  I have a lot of layers in my hair that I'm trying to grow out at the moment, layers that refuse to sit properly all the time.  I've also a lot of broken hairs that go all curly if it's wet or humid out or, as I found out at the beaut.ie meetup a couple of weeks ago, if it's warm and I'm rushing around like a lunatic.  When I got to the Market Bar I was sweating like a crazy person and could actually feel the back of my hair curling up like a brillo pad!  Not a good look, especially when confronted by a paparazzi sized camera hehe

On the left is the result of using the brushing lotion and on the right it's au natural.  I used this brushing lotion on the side of my head for photographic purposes and not so much the back of my head.  After I'd taken these photos, I did go back and do the rest of my head.  But lads, look at the difference!  I have shiny, sleek, smooth hair with no curly bits!  The layers sit flat and I can confirm that after sleeping on it and just brushing my hair this morning, my hair stayed like this for the whole day.  This made me happy.  It smells gorgeous and comes with a pump dispenser instead of the expected aerosol.  It's a bargaintastic €7.25 and I really do think it's going to be a permanent fixture in my stash.  I've already told my sister I'm using it on her hair tomorrow night in preparation for our night out on Friday!

Finally we have something that I photographed before putting the conditioner in.  I am a huge fan of the sea/salt texturizer sprays.  Frederic Fekkai's Marine Summer Beach Hair is my absolute favourite one but I have a few in my collection and when the weather gets a bit warmer, I'll be doing a comparison post.  I bring these away with me whenever I'm going on my summer holidays and am always on the lookout for new ones to try.  This is Lakme's offering, its the Sea Mist sea spray.

This also comes with a pump dispenser that releases a light mist, a sea mist if you will!  This spray could be a proper contender to Frederic Fekkai in my book and is so much cheaper.  Marine Summer Beach hair retails for €20-€25 and it is my hair luxury in the summer months, but this is only €7.25.  See the photo below for how gorgeous is makes my hair.

It defines my layers beautifully, gives shine and gives those gorgeous beachy waves so easily.  All I did was spray spray spray, scrunch scrunch scrunch.  Can't get much easier than that!

If you do try any of these out, let me know, or if you try any different products, deffo let me know!  I want beautiful hair and these products have made me a very happy bunny :)

  3. Really lovely! Is it just Santry that stock these do you think? I could use some va-va-voom for my hair and that sea mist spray looks very promising!

  4. Thanks ladies! The sea spray is really gorge, can't wait for a mild day to spray it in my hair and pretend it's summertime :)

@ArtDonatella I'd never heard of these products myself before seeing them in Hair Crazy, so I've no idea where else would sell them, I tried googling them before doing the review & only found online US stores :)

  5. Your hair looks great.Love the colour. Defo must pick up that sea salt spray. I have the Umberto Giannini Grunge Glamour salt spray and it takes it moods when it wants to work on my hair and the smell isn't the best either.
