Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Eyeliner

I first read about the Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama eyeliner here on beaut.ie at the start of the year and when I found out it was going to be available here in Ireland, I kept my eye out for it.  So on my trip to Belfast a couple of weeks ago, I was delighted to see it in Superdrug and even more happy to see it on sale!  I got it for £5.99 and I think it's €6.99 in Ireland in Boots.

This is what you get:

First of all I love the little pot, it's cute and makes me happy with said cuteness.

Next thing that makes me even happier is the brush.  Now, over the years of trying to apply gel liners, I settled on my Mac 210 brush as my go to brush.  Dare I say that I think this brush might overtake it?  Yes, I dare!  It's a flat brush with hard, dense bristles that makes it so easy to apply a thin line and if you turn it 90 degrees, you can apply a thick line.

I was able to put a fine point on the tip of the wing in one stroke, no messing about at all.

Below are swatches of the liner with the tapered side of the brush on the left, and on the right is using the flat side.  The formula is thick and creamy and it literally glides on, without dragging the eyelid at all.

On the left has the liner (obviously!) and on the right is a bare eye.

I know I'm going to go on about this brush again, but it makes tightlining so easy.  Applying the liner to my two eyes took about 4 minutes tops.  And that was with faffing about and tightlining and making it look as neat as possible.

I'd most heartily recommend getting this liner, especially while it's on offer.  I believe they've only got it in black so far, what I wouldn't do for a navy or purple one!  I've a work night out coming up soon and shall be wearing this out :)

Has anyone tried this liner and if so whatcha think??

  7. Love the look of this, really want the aubergine one but I think black is the only colour available in Ireland at the mo (please feel free to tell me I'm wrong on that though). Glad the brush that's included is a good one.
