Houston we have a lip product problem

Ladies, I am demented.  I was going through my handbag today and this is what I found.  It is no exaggeration at all.  Let me explain a bit.  I don't really like my lips, they're thin, uneven and I've spent a lot of time (and money) on products to help me feel more comfortable with them.  What you are about to witness is an example of my daily quest to find that one perfect lip product.

I give you the lip products that I found in my handbag.

Sweet Jesus it's a wonder I haven't given myself a hernia lugging this all around.  I never know what's lurking in the bottom of my bag and so when I find a product I like or have used a couple of times, pop it goes into my bag.  I will give myself credit for using every single one of these during the week at some point or another, so I don't feel as bad as if I was lugging dead weight around.

Let us examine some more, shall we?

From left to right we have Missguided lipsplash in the colour Missled.  I got this free with Cosmopolitan magazine at the start of March.  It's a nudie patootie colour that's lovely either on it's own or over a lipstick.  In fact, that statement is true for these four glosses.  Next is Barry M's Lip Gloss in a bright pink.  There's no name on the tube, but it's a gorgeous pink with lots of multicoloured glitter running through it.  I will be picking up more of these glosses after Operation Spending Ban for April ends.  Third on the gloss list is Sephora's gloss ultra-brilliance in the colour 12.  I love this colour and will most definitely repurchase when I run out.  It's a peach gloss with peach glitter running through it.  Love.  Finally, we have Sephora's gloss ultra-brilliance in the colour 18.  This is a really shimmery silver with very fine multicoloured glitter running through it.  It's much more sheer on the lips and adds a gorgeous layer of sparkle over a lipstick.  I got the two Sephora glosses in Alicante last year so hopefully when I go this year I can pick up some more.

Now, onto the glosses in tubes.  First up on the left is Opia's lipgloss which has no shade on the tube.  It's a nudey gloss with really fine multicoloured glitter running through it and is nice and sheer when applied to the lips.  Next we have Gosh's Cool Lip Jam in the shade 101.  This is one of my favourite products, it's sticky, lasts for ages and is a silvery/blue gloss with blue and silver shimmer running through it.  You have to try it to see it properly.  Some day I might get the courage to swatch these and photograph my lips up close!  Finally on the right is one of my all time favourite lip glosses. Ever.  It's Sephora's lip gloss in Rusted Rose.  This is that "my lips only better" colour for me.  I have repurchased this a couple of times and will continue to do so as I run out.  Love and need in my life.

Finally onto the lip balms and lipsticks.  On the left we have Vaseline's Lip Therapy in Rosy Lips.  This is perfect for a little bit of colour on the lips while also moisturising them.  Only thing is, you have to have a wee check after you've applied it to make sure you dont have loads on.  I sometimes forget that it's a tinted lip balm and apply it liberally as I would a normal lip balm, only to go to the bathroom and see it all over the outside of my mouth hehe  Next is Catrice's Absolute Moisture lipstick in the colour 020 Caramel Beige.  This is a gorgeous nudie patootie colour that gives the lips a touch of colour with a beautiful sheen finish.  I'll be checking out more of Catrice's lipsticks next month.  Next is 17's Mirror Shine lipstick in Beehive.  This is a fantastic everyday nudie/peachy colour that makes me happy.  It gives a gloss like finish and dare I say that this could be the one lipstick that I could actually finish, ever?!  I have my eye on a couple more shades in this range.  Last but by no means least is the product that I walked the streets of New York for.  Yep, I went into every Duane Read and Walgreens that we walked by and it was finally in a Duane Read's beside the feckin hotel that I found it.  It's my coveted EOS lipbalm in Watermelon.  Yes it's grubby from being in the bottom of my bag, but that's ok, it's just so cute!  I wish I'd gotten more of them and might have to search them out online when I run out.  This is my most used lip balm at the moment, and believe me, I have more, they just weren't in my handbag!

Are there any must have lip products that I'm not carrying around like a nomad?  And does anyone know if we can get EOS lipbalms in Ireland?

  6. Sally Hansen Lip Inflation in Sheer Blush- even though I already have plumped up lips it'll give you a full-on trout pout ;)

Lip balm-wise... It's ridiculously pricey and only a crazy (and rich) person would buy it... but I stole a few goes of a Creme de la Mer lip balm from my sister once. No exaggeration- it's AMAZING. I always have chapped and bleeding lips, and after one application it fixed my poor lips for a few DAYS! 58 smackers for a vaseline-sized pot xx

I'm a lipstick addict - I keep buying them, using them once and then forgetting about them! How awful is that?!
