Neutrogena Multi-Defence skincare review

At the start of March, I embarked on a new skincare regime using some of the products from the Neutrogena Multi-Defence skincare line.

I got the Daily Moisturiser for All Skin Types from one of the girls at work so to make it a fairer review, I bought the Night Moisturiser and the Gentle Purifying Scrub myself.  The Daily Moisturiser retails for €9.49, the Night Moisturiser retails for €9.49 too and the Purifying Scrub retails for €4.99.  I'm using the RRPs for the products because I bought the Night Moisturiser and the Purifying Scrub in Sainsburys along with groceries and surprise surprise can't find the receipt hehe It was a month ago!  Anyway, Boots are always doing 3 for 2 deals so keep an eye out for them.

So on to the review.  I was excited to try these products.  I used the Neutrogena Skin Clearing foundation years ago and loved it and am a huge fan of their Visibly Clear 2 in 1 Wash Mask, so I had high hopes.

First up is the Daily Moisturiser.  As I mentioned above, I have the All Skin Types one so figured I should be ok.  It comes with a very handy pump dispenser which dispenses a lovely thick cream.  It smells like holidays which is probably because of the SPF 25 in it, but I wasn't put off my that at all, I love the smell of holidays :)  I felt that my skin absorbed the cream nicely and that it didn't just sit on top of my skin, like some other moisturisers I've used before.  My skin felt nice after applying and I didn't break out at all.  However, this stuff made my skin Oily McOilerson!  Now, maybe if I'd used the one for Oily/Combination skin it mightn't have done this, so take that into consideration if you're thinking about trying it.  I use the same couple of foundations every day and set them with my Mac MSF, but when using the moisturiser, my skin was a big slab of grease, not just the T Zone!  It was like I hadn't set the foundation at all.  So I gave this moisturiser a week and a half before I had to stop using it.

Next is the Night Moisturiser.  This has a nice perfumey smell to it and is much lighter in texture than the Daily Moisturiser.  It took a bit more work to get it to sink into my skin, but once it did, it was fine.  I say fine because I wasn't that pushed on it really.  Any night creams I've used in the past leave my skin feeling so soft and hydrated before bed and they're usually a thicker cream.  This, however, didn't feel like I'd anything on my skin.  My face felt the same after using it as it did before.  I don't think I'll be finishing this container to be honest.

Finally is the Gentle Purifying Scrub.  This is my favourite product out of the three and has become part of my showering ritual.  It's a light face wash with really fine scrubby bits in it.  It leaves my skin gorgeous and smooth without scrubbing the living daylights out of my poor visage :)  Of the three products I tried, I'd recommend trying this one, but at €4.99, keep an eye out for deals in Boots or Superdrug.

So a bit hit and miss with Neutrogena this time.  I've gone back to my Aldi skincare and love it.  I'll have to review the products soon :)
