April favourites

I can't believe I'm so late in writing this post!  The last week has been exhausting with work but onwards and upwards!

These are my monthly favourites.  They are the products I've been reaching for all the time and that have made me happy this month.  I'm sure I'm forgetting items, but here we go.

Before I get on to the products themselves, one of my most favouritest (it's a word, my word hehe) things of April was meeting up with lots of new people.  There were a few events I've attended over the past few weeks and have met up with some great girls including Claire, Deirdre and Sinead, Andrea and Andreea, Kirstie, Lee, Emma and Hannah.  I'm really enjoying our little blogging community and hope it grows and grows :)  And hopefully I will get to meet more of my "internet friends" hehe

So on to the products themselves.

First up is Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Correcter.  I am on a mission to try and take care of my skin more.  I bought this in New York last year and forgot I had it until the great organisation of all my products happened.  I have some areas of pigmentation from breakouts and sun damage but even more annoying is I have a little patch of what seems like clogged pores on my cheek, about the size of a €2 coin.  You can't really see them but when I run my hand over my skin, it's smooth until I reach that part, then I can feel it.  This stuff has helped that feeling go away.  It doesn't clog my pores and I'm happy with it so far.

Next up is Molton Brown's heavenly gingerlily moisture bath & shower gel.  I also forgot I had this & bought it aaaaages ago as part of a set.  It's the 100 ml one and I've no idea how much it was.  It smells absolutely gorgeous though.  It's a clean, floral scent that reminds me of Sunday mornings when I was a kid.  I know that probably makes no sense hehe But that's what I think of it when I smell it, love it and will repurchase when I have spondoolies.

Botanics Soothing Eye Make Up Remover is next on the list.  I got this in January/February in Boots for a few euro and love it.  It's fantastic for removing eyeshadow and mascara quickly and easily and I will be repurchasing this for sure.  It has an oily layer and you have to shake the bottle to mix the two solutions.  It doesn't leave my eyeballs sore or greasy and doesn't irritate my eyes either.

Next up has been the saviour for my poor hair.  As you may know, I went from dark to light recently and so my poor locks are in bits.  I have dyed it agian since that last post hehe This stuff has made my hair feel normal again and you can read a full review here.  I'm hoping to get my hair cut next month and get a good chunk taken off to get rid of the dead ends.

My Orofluido has been back with a bang since the whole dyeing process began.  My full review is here but I can't say enough about this stuff.  After I dry my hair a bit, I lash some of this on, then dry my hair fully.  It leaves my tresses lovely and smooth and in the morning when I'm about to head off to work, I put some more in just to help my hair some more :)  I've given samples of this to some of the girls at work and still have half the bottle left.  Love it.

I have a good few Sleek palettes but this is the one I use the most.  Ever since The Body Shop's makeup artist Karim told us about using shadows for the eyebrows to achieve a softer look, I've been using Sleek's Storm palette again.  I use the two matte shades mixed together for my brows, so the third from the left on the top row and the second from the right on the bottom row.  I don't use my Sleek palettes enough and bought the peach one a few weeks ago so must start using them stat!

Next up is Maybelline's Dream Matte Powder that I bought last year, if not, the year before.  I saw it recently on Miss Glamorazzi's Youtube channel and was going to buy it to see how it compared to my Mac Mineralise Skinfinish Natural.  As I was organising my makeup stash in April, I came across it and was delighted!  My shade is 01 Rose Nude and I love this powder so much!  I can't believe I stopped using it and forgot all about it but I will do a comparison review on it very soon and see how it stacks up with my Mac one.

Finally is Rimmel's Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation.  I read some bad things about this and then some good things, so I had to try it myself.  I got it in Shade 100 Ivory and it's the perfect shade for me.  I will be reviewing this really soon so keep an eye out for that.

And that's it folks!  I'm hoping to get organised this weekend and be able to post more during the week.  I love reading these posts myself and they always make me want to try new things!  I haven't really been disappointed in April with any products.  Before I realised that people were blogging about products, I would see things in magazines that I wanted to try and I would buy them blindly.  Now I'm more careful about what I buy and do read other people's blogs for opinions and reviews that help me decide what to spend my spondoolies on!

What are your favourite products right now?  I am always on the hunt for the next great thing, so leave a comment below!

Thanks for reading.

Karen xx
