Product rave - Max Factor False Lash Effect Fusion mascara

Ever since I started watching Youtube makeup videos years ago, I've wanted eyelashes like MakeupbyTiffanyD, click on her name to see what I mean.  This girl has perfect lashes in my eyes, so I've been on the hunt ever since for a mascara that will help me achieve said perfect lashes.  Due to budgetary constraints, I limit myself to drugstore mascaras, that way, I can try lots of them!

A couple of weeks ago I was watching something on TV when the ad for the Max Factor False Lash Effect Fusion mascara came on.  I immediately know I wanted to try it.  The regular False Lash Effect mascara is one of my all time favourite mascaras but my tube dried up and I've been meaning to get another.  I got this in Boots a few weeks ago with my points card and I *think* it was €13.99, but I will stand corrected, if anyone knows the proper price, leave a comment below please!

The tube is the same shape as the regular False Lash Effect mascara, only it's purple, making it easy to find among the throngs of mascaras in my collection and in my makeup bag too.

The wand is also the same with little plastic bristles tapering off towards the top.  The formulation itself is medium on the wet-dry scale.  The first time I tried the mascara, I wasn't mad on it at all.  It didn't seem to do anything for my lashes and I was really disappointed.  Now, I don't know if it's from air getting at it or what, but after the first couple of uses, the application and formulation is perfect!

The brush combs through the lashes leaving them completely unclumped (if that's even a word, but you know what I mean.)  It lengthens and volumises the lashes beautifully and it's about as close to Tiffany's lashes as I'll get for now!

Nary a clump to be seen!  Unlike most mascaras that leave me with crispy/hard eyelashes, this one leaves them lovely and soft, so much so that it feels like I've no mascara on, very strange feeling indeed but lovely nonetheless.  I like to twirl the brush through the lashes starting at the roots and that combs through and separates each lash perfectly.

These photos were of just one coat and that's all I need for during the day.  I've worn it every day to work for the past 2 weeks and after applying it at 5.30 am, it's still going strong at 6pm when I get home with barely any fallout under the bottom lashes.

This is now my favourite mascara for every day use.  I will be repurchasing this for sure and am happy I gave it a second chance!  Has anyone tried this mascara?  If so, how did you get on with it?

  7. Thanks for all the comments poodles :) I think the main differences for me between the fusion mascara and the regular false lash effect is that the fusion lengthens the lashes so much more and it separates them much better too. I wish I had a regular false lash effect to do a photo comparison with but mine has dried out and I ain't buying another one while I got the fusion one!

  8. That really is a dramatic difference for such a reasonably priced mascara. I'll have to look out for that one!
