Nail shame...

Lads, I have serious nail shame at the moment.  I applied the gorgeous Across The Universe by Deborah Lippmann on Saturday and cannot bring myself to take it off for two reasons.

1.  I heart it with all my heart and can't stop looking at it.

2.  I absolutely hate taking off glitter nail polish with an absolute passion.  Hate it.

So due to this hatred, this is what I went to work looking like nail-wise:

I know I know, it's terrible, but I also have another nail shame secret to tell you and don't kill me for telling you.  I like picking the nail polish off my nails sometimes.  I know it's bad but it feels so good.  I don't do it all the time but I will try to stop doing it.  Promise...

Anyway, my question of the day is "How long do you keep your nail polish on for before you know it's time to change it?"  Do you let your nails get this bad before changing it up?  No?  Didn't think so....

PS  A patient in work today complimented these actual nails today and I looked at her as if to say "Wha? Is you blind woman?!"  Ah, she was a little bridey who was on the lookout for nail polish for her granddaughter and I was secretly delighted to get a compliment on behalf of Deborah Lippmann!

  1. Confession time: as soon as my polish gets one small chip I start peeling it all off. It's horrible but so satisfying!

  3. It's sooo pretty, I wouldn't want to remove it either and yay for the compliment on it.

To be honest, I get bored with polish really quickly so I've normally removed it and put on a new one after two days.

  9. Yip, my nail crimes would put many to shame. There is just so much satisfaction when you get a good peel going. :/ This polish is AMAZING though, I don't blame you for wanting to hold on a little longer. Ha

  10. ah could never let mine get this bad, but i know what you mean about taking the glitter ones off, have you tried the remover where you stick your finger in the pot and then rub it against the rubber things on the way out of the pot, think it's more for removing nails but should be easier then scrubbing off glitter

  13. regardless of some varnishes 10 day claims, no polish has ever lasted more than 5 on my hands! I take it off as soon as it's chipped

  14. I wish I could be as disciplined as to take it off as soon as it chips but I normally wait at least a day or two too late. Lately have been putting it off for longer as at the moment I only have these nail polish remover pads at home which are really bad at taking polish off, but I keep forgetting to buy another bottle of L'onglex...

  15. Gorgeous polish. I too pick at my nail polish (I like to term it a referred habit from when I used to bite my nails as a child!!)but I get bored of the one colour so quickly that I change it every couple of days anyway!
