Deborah Lippmann - Across The Universe dupe for €1.29!

Oh ladies, stuff like this makes me so happy!  A few months ago I picked up Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe for the mad price of €19 as a treat to myself.  While having a wander in Dunnes yesterday doing a bit of shopping, Joanne and I walked down the cosmetics aisle "just to see what they had" and I came across the Essence stand and saw this baby!  It's Essence's Colour & Go quick drying nail polish in the shade blue addicted, a mere €1.29, a fifteenth of the price of Across the Universe!

Standing there in the aisle, I went through the checklist for Across the Universe while investigating blue addicted.  Dark base, check.  Tiny blue glitter, check.  Bigger hexagonal light blue glitter bits, check.  Big hexagonal green glitter bits, check.  Sold!  Get in mah basket!

Let's take a closer look shall we?

Here's how they look on my nails.

I applied the two polishes on alternate nails.  So from left to right we have one coat of Across the Universe, blue addicted, Across the Universe, blue addicted.  I took photos with and without the flash for a proper comparison.  You can see that the jelly base of Across the Universe is slightly thinner than blue addicted.

Above is two coats of each polish.  You can see even more that the base of blue addicted is thicker than Across the Universe.  You can also see just how identical the glitter is!

Without the flash, the two polishes look identical.  However, with the flash on, it's a big difference.  But let's be honest, you ain't gonna be going around with flashlights on your nails now are ya?

Three coats of each polish.  Can you tell the difference?

I may have picked up a couple more polishes from Essence that have just made me so happy.  €1.29 for a polish, I mean, it'd actually be wrong not to pick some up.  Stay tuned for the other additions to the family this week!

Thanks for reading and now go out and get this with your spare change.
