New bits from NYC! (New York Colour, not the city)

Last week Joanne and I went to see what new products make up brand NYC have in store for us coming up to the Christmas season, well, not just us, everyone in Ireland!  NYC's ethos is wanting to bring runway looks to everyone at affordable prices and I'm down with that.

First up are the new eye shadow palettes.  They've got one for brown eyes, blue eyes and green eyes.  Below are the ones for green and blue eyes and are €3.99.  Yes, you will get change from a fiver for a palette that has 4 colours, an eye shadow base and an illuminator.

Taking a look at the palette for green eyes first, we have a shimmery champagne, gold and brown shadow, along with a matte brown shadow.  You get a decent sized flesh coloured eye shadow base and shimmery illuminator making it great value and really convenient.  All you need is mascara and you're good to go!

The palette for blue eyes is on the lilac and purple end of the colour spectrum, but would go beautifully for green and brown eyes too.  I have greeny blue eyes so can wear pretty much any colour shadow but wearing purple makes them look really green so can't wait to get stuck into this palette.  You can see the plastic overlay shows what NYC suggest each colour be used for but feel free to go wild and use whatever colour you want for wherever you want!

Next up are the Show Time glitter eyeliners.  I got four to play with and check out how pigmented they are.  In the swatch photo we have from left to right; Stardust Turquoise, Paparazzi Purple, Show Time Black and Starry Blue Sky.  Out of the four, the black one has the least amount of glitter in it.  Am loving the purple and navy ones.  Will find out the price of these and update the post asap.

Next up are the long awaited Blushable Creme Sticks and they come in two shades, on the left is Big Apple Blush and on the right is Plaza Pink.  In the US they come in more shades so these two will have to do us for now.  At €3.49 each you can't go wrong.  I've been playing around with them on the back of my hands and I'm liking what I see.  They're pigmented but with a gorgeous shimmer in them, making them a good thing to keep in your handbag when going out at Christmas.  They'd even work on the lips too.

Next we have the Smooch Proof 16 hour lip stains and I got to play with Persistent Pink (top) and Forever Freesia (bottom).  Make up artist Sarah Jane Wai O'Flynn was on hand to explain how the tips of the lip stains are more pointed than most others on the market and are a lot more gentle on the lips.

My lips are really dry and cracked at the moment so I'm not going to gross you out by showing these on my manky lips in high definition.  Little love hearts on my hands will have to suffice for now!

Finally we have three new sets of eyelashes and I am in love with them!  Please 'scusi the bad photos but they were locked away under a protective layer of plastic since they're the only ones they have at the moment (and to protect them from a bunch of beauty bloggers getting their maulers on them).  They come in at the €3.99 range and are going to be part of my stash when they're released.

Fandabbydoozy NYC, I can now play with them properly to my heart's content since they've been photographed to my satisfaction.  An annoying thing about being a beauty blogger is not being able to get stuck into a new product without photographing it from every angle possible so stay tuned for looks featuring these products.

Will you be visiting the NYC stands to check any of these out?  To see where your nearest NYC stockist is, text NYC to 51500 for the cost of a standard text message.  NYC have recently become part of the Penney's beauty section on Henry Street so no excuse ladies, get in and have a look, 'tis nearly the season in all an' anyways!

  1. I want that green eye palette, normally the colours for green eyes are the mankiest so I'm glad these are nice. Don't think you can get them up here though >:(
