Lovely Girlie Healthy Bits - Week 3

This week I was down 2lbs, making a total weight loss of half a stone which I'm delighted with!  I'm not doing anything mad diet-wise, just making healthier choices and not eating rubbish.  I still enjoy my cup of tea after dinner with a couple of biscuits, ain't no way am I giving that up.

In the past where I've followed the Weight Watchers plan, I became obsessive with every morsel that was going in my mouth and I just got bored really quickly with it and didn't stick to it.  I know it's worked for lots of ladies out there but I got fed up trying to follow it properly and paying someone to tell me I hadn't lost weight.  Work, friends, family and blogging keeps me really busy and I have no interest in letting the whole weight loss thing take up lots of my time.  So these are the little things I'm doing and will be able to keep up as a way of life, not until I reach my goal and then stop.

I don't eat after my dinner, which I have at about 6.30 - 7pm or thereabouts.
I'm drinking at least 2 litres of water every day (and legging it to the bathroom countless times).
I'm watching portion control big time, that was one of the biggest things I had to change.
I bring my breakfast and lunch to work with me, I know what I'm eating then and saves me a few bob.

I'm finding it hard to get my exercise in every day so this week I need to be more organised.  I haven't taken a full length photo yet nor have I measured myself, I keep forgetting every week, but my clothes are feeling looser and that's such an incentive to keep going!  This weekend was a busy one and Joanne and I had a lovely Chinese on Saturday night as our payday treat.  We used to go overboard with take aways and have stopped it now except for once a month and sure it tastes so much better this way!

How was your weight loss this week?

  1. Well done Karen! Trying to watch what you are eating can make things boring, but try to mix it up. I am loving rye crackers, with a little philly and sliced green & red peppers with some ground black pepper. Yummy :)

  4. You go girl :) ... I find Marietta biscuits great for tea I just can't give up a biccy either so I love these there not diet biccys just plain sweet old fashioned biccys...there only 22 cals each so you can have 3 or 4 of those for the same cal content as 1 digestive. usually I have 2 n I'm happy then without overloading on the calories if I was to have 2 digestives it would be 160+ cals it would be only 44 cals for the 2 mariettas.. 2 mariettas a nite for a week would be only 308 cals in comparison to 1100 cals for the digestives that's nearly a whole days calories!!! It's shocking wen you work it out xx

    1. Thanks Dee, I know me, I'm lazy and get bored on really restrictive diets, I wouldn't have been able to have those beers on Saturday otherwise!

  6. Well done Karen! Our weight watchers leader is blue in the face telling us all to follow the rules you've set out there (no eating after dinner/water/portions) - Look at all the bucks you're saving yourself :J I've lost a nice slow 3 lbs since Xmas... I'm happy with that - trying to retrain my eating habits and not go overboard on exercise only to get majorly fed up with everything after a few months ... Slow and steady wins the race :D

    1. Good woman yourself Shelley, we are so wise with our slow and steady approach! You've hit the nail on the head, retraining your eating habits. It's so easy to fall off the wagon with diets, I know me and I know I wont stick to it :)
