Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Petals

One of the best things I ever did was to give up using make up wipes last year.  My skin was in bits and to be honest, I was just being lazy using them every day, even on my eyes.  Since then I've been trying various cleansers and eye make up removers.  Last month I went to the launch of the new Nuxe Cleansing Range with Rose Petals and was given the range to play with.  Every product contains floral water extract of Damascus Rose petals and I'll be telling you about them all soon but felt that this product deserved it's own post.

The Micellar Cleansing Water is one of my favourite discoveries of the year so far.  Designed for use on the face, eyes and lips, it's a one stop shop for cleansing your skin and removing your make up.  I've never used a micellar cleanser before and did a bit of research to see what makes them different to other cleansers.  Basically, where cream cleansers wipe away the dirt and make up from your face and you need to use toner after them to make sure it's all removed, micellar cleansers' formula causes them to actually remove anything that isn't water form your face immediately, kind of like a hoover.  So there's no need for rinsing, toning or any extra steps.  You're ready to moisturise and go!

After the fabulous launch, I went back to the office and had another event right after work (the life of a busy blogger ahem).  Rather than apply more make up on top of the old stuff, which is what I'd usually do and then bemoan the state of my face in the mirror, less than two hours of the micellar cleanser being in my possession, I used it to remove my make up, eyes and all.  No stinging, no tightness afterwards.  No need to double cleanse.  Just cotton wool and the cleanser is all you need.

That's what makes it so perfect for bringing away on holidays or keeping in your make up bag if you want to travel light.  There's no need for eye make up remover or toner.  Decant some into one of those plastic bottles to save even more space.  I'll be bringing this away with me on holidays in my aim to travel lightly!

The Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water is suitable for sensitive skinned ladies and I love using it.  A 200ml bottle is a very reasonable €14.90 and it's something I will purchase myself.

So talk to me, have you used micellar cleansers before?  Am I totally behind the times in finding out about them?

  1. This sounds lovely, I prefer a cleanser to take everything off without having to bother with double cleansing or toner. Do you think would suit dry skin?

    1. It doesn't leave my skin dry or tight at all and is really gentle on the skin. I'd say it'll work grand with dry skin, even ask the sales assistant to try it on your skin and see how you get on. x
