Vichy Capital Soleil Anti-Shine Dry Touch Emulsion - combo/oily skinned ladies rejoice!

Earlier this week I wrote about Melanoma Awareness Month and today I'm here to bring you a new product that was made for me.  And other oily/combo ladies out there.  But mainly for me.  See, I hate wearing regular SPF under my foundation.  No matter which one I use, it's too thick, takes ages to absorb into my skin and I have to sit there waiting for it to dry before I can apply my foundation.  On mornings where I'm in a rush (most mornings), this annoys me to no end and I end up either not wearing SPF (very bold, I know), or wear foundation with SPF in it (very good, I know).  Since I like to try a lot of foundations and not all foundations have SPF in them, I needed another plan of attack to mind my skin.

A couple of weeks ago, this tube of amazingness (it's a word) arrived in the post and as I opened the envelope, I'm pretty sure I heard a choir of angels singing in the background.

The Vichy Angels have developed this product for anyone with combination to oily skin and also the sensitive Sallys out there too.  It has a mad name, Capital Soleil Anti-Shine Dry Touch Emulsion SPF 50, or as I like to call it, the one with the sun on it.  The packaging is bright and I would usually say that colour makes it easy to find in my stash but this has gone AWOL on me today and so the place looks like a bomb site after me trying to find it.

Anyway, when I apply a blob of this into my hands, it looks like any regular lotion texture wise.  As I start to apply it to my face, that's when I feel the difference in texture.  Described as being "fluid, light and highly concentrated in powders that offer both a blotting effect and a soft, powdered appearance", it glides over my skin easily and dries quickly leaving my skin instantly matte.  My foundation goes on so much easier over my dry skin and I can leg it out the door to work quick smart.  I don't even feel the need to powder my face, that's how matte it feels!

It feels really lightweight on my skin and my face is shine free until I'm going home, that's nine hours shine free!  I don't look cakey, powdery and there's no sign of clogged pores.  I love using it and am now going to have to find my tube immediately or buy another one today.  For €14.50, it's a brilliant product and is a staple in my morning routine.  That's when I can find it.  I would totally recommend this to the combo/oily ladies out there.  We get to look after our skin with SPF and not look like yer man with our foundation sliding off our faces.

What's your favourite SPF to wear?

    1. Yeah that's what I usually do, I apply my serum, eye cream and moisturiser upstairs, then come down to do my make up and apply this right under my foundation, x

    1. I don't use a primer at all, maybe on nights out, so give it a go and see how you get on! The fact that it has SPF50 in it is a big ole bonus :)

  6. I hate this sunscreen. It's really thick and tacky, not fluid, more like a paste! Hard to blend. When I try to apply foundation on top of this it flakes off immedialately. I like clarins uv+ better, its almost liquid like and easy to blend and dries fast to a matte finish.

  7. Hi Karen thanks to you I now know that I don't have to get a product from the other side of the planet to get a nice sunscreen XD (I had my eyes of a Korean sunscreen I heard good things about on the net)
I'm French so Vichy is in all good stores and I will surely give it a go this summer !

  8. I've just started using this after having been a bit disappointed by another brand of matt sunscreen fluids. I wouldn't call it "fluid" it's much more of a cream, but I LOVE it. My foundation (bourjois) sits perfectly on it. Completely normal greasing up on my t-zone during the day, not more than when I wouldn't wear SPF. I love it.

It is a bit whitening, for me this is perfect. But I guess for people who wouldn't want a sheer white film on their skin should test it before buying.
