There is a rare phenomenon in the beauty world ladies. One that shocks you to your very core and when it happens to you, you grab it with both hands. For the second time this year, I've come across The Perfect Lip Product For Me. Both times have been courtesy of my favourite brand, Chanel. It first brought me Rouge Allure Laque in Empire which you can read about here and now there's this beauty to take it's place beside Empire.
This was love at first sight. I saw it from a distance and my eyes widened while I approached it silently. I gazed upon it and in slow motion, wincing, I started to swatch it on the back of my hand. Let me explain that the wincing was because I had The Fear that the swatch wouldn't be as beautiful as the lipstick in the bullet. After swatching, I stopped wincing to prevent any further wrinkles and held the lipstick triumphantly to the sales assistant, asking her for a new one. Then The Fear came back as she looked for a new one. What if it was out of stock? Thankfully she found one and I paid for it, relaxed that I'd found a gorgeous new product.
Now, I've waffled long enough so let's get to the goods shall we? What I'm about to show you is a Rouge Coco Shine in the shade En Vouge from the Chanel Summer 2012 collection. It is right up my street and has my name all over it. It's coral. It's got shimmer running through it. It's moisturising. It's pigmented enough for me without being over the top and is totally work friendly.
It looks a bit scary in the tube to be honest and I'm still working on wearing more colour on my lips, but if there's one thing Chanel does to perfection, it's making a classy, subtle and gorgeous lip product. €26.50 is the damage but it's Chanel folks, Chanel..... Just in case you were wondering, En Vogue still lives in it's cardboard box until I'm ready to let it wander freely in my make up bag.
The photos don't do En Vogue justice. The gold glitter adds a sheen rather than going all disco on your lips. As it starts to fade away, which is about three hours later, it leaves my lips lightly stained, ready for either lip balm or more En Vogue. Usually it's En Vogue.
Go check this beauty out at Chanel counters and then come back and tell me what you think and what else I should get from the summer collection!
