I love new and innovative things in the beauty world and I'd been looking forward to seeing this little guy in person for ages now. Clarins are changing the way we look at liners and the gorgeous Claude expressed his love for this bad boy last week, saying it was his favourite thing in the whole Autumn collection and that it was something we all need. And ladies, I agree with him!
Clarins 3 Dot Liner has a felt tip applicator that's made up of three little legs that allows you to push the formula in between your eyelashes, giving a fuller looking lash line. If you turn the applicator on it's side, you can use the three little legs to create a smooth, pigmented line that I'll show you more about later.
I set my camera up and learned how to use the timer settings so I could get some action shots for you! What I like to do is start off by pushing the liner into the roots of the lashes from underneath and then going along the top of the lashes to create a fuller lash line. You don't need to wiggle the applicator very much and a light touch is all that's needed as the liquid comes out easily as you can see on my hand above. You can go over it until you get a lash line you're happy with.
Before and after shot? I thought you'd never ask. The top photo shows my lashes with just mascara on and underneath is one layer of the Clarins 3 Dot Liner applied to the lash line. For someone like moi who doesn't like to wear black liner to work, this is perfect for giving my lashes a bit more flutter and more definition to my eyes.
Now, for the braver ladies out there, you can use the 3 Dot Liner to create either a subtle slightly thicker line or go wild and to a proper thick winged cat eye! I'm crap with liners but this is easy to do, just hold your eyelid slightly taut and glide it along the lash line. You can hold the liner so that the applicator is flat against your skin for a smooth finish.
So here's a little recap.
Top: Just mascara.
Middle: Liner pushed into lash line.
Bottom: Strong and less strong cat eye.
Whether you're shaky handed or confident with a liner, this will work for you and you'll be able to handle it no problem, I'm that confident in it and sure if Claude says you need to get it, you need to listen to the French man!
So my dear readers, in conclusion, I am in The Ultimate Love with the Clarins 3 Dot Liner. It's €24 but for something so versatile, I'd happily shell out my cashola for this little gem.
