I've been shopping... It was a bank holiday, I couldn't help it!

So yes, as the title of this post suggests, I went shopping this past weekend and I was a bold girl.  Well, what do you expect when you're accompanied by two fellow bloggers (enablers) who encourage mad spending!  I'm looking at you Lorraine and Sue.....

We wandered through the beauty hall in Debenhams Blanchardstown, stopping at each counter, covering our hands in products, asking for wipes and repeating.  At the Estee Lauder counter, we stopped to check out the new range of polishes.  I was instantly drawn to this stunning purple shade called Smashed (€20) from the Pure Color Nail Lacquer range for 2012.  I'll be showing it to you in more detail soon, but had to give you a little sneak peek and see what you thought....  I've given you a hint of the shade in this photo... I'm so mean!

Next we went to see what one of the chemists had to offer and I found myself at the Catrice stand, like I usually do where I came upon these beauts.  Both lipsticks are part of the Ultimate Colour range and were €4.49 each.  On the left is shade 110 Pink Me Up! and on the right is shade 140 Pinker-bell.  Lorraine said that I needed the double ended brush below and for €3.99, how could I refuse.  It has an angled brush on one end and a small smudger brush on the other end.  Grand for my make up bag.

Now, when looking at the Catrice lippies, they had a tester of a shade I wanted but none left on the stand.  Sooooo, I did what any good beauty junkie would do and went to my local chemist at home to see if they had it.  Tully's pharmacy in Raheny have a fantastic selection of make up and their Catrice stand is always up to date.  But alas, they didn't have shade 100, the one I still lust after.  What they DID have though is new brand Flormar that I saw first on Beaut.ie last month.

I was like a kid in a sweet shop.  Or a beauty junkie in a chemist with a new brand.  Same thing really.  The range is gorgeous and I'm not kidding when I tell you I had swatches all over the back of my and and down the inside of my arm too.... I tried to be restrained and picked up these guys to show you.  I've lost the receipt but will try to remember generally how much they were and will hopefully have the exact prices when I review them fully!

I picked up a Quartet Eye Shadow (€7.99?) in 401, a neutral palette that will suit all eye colours and I'll have a play with that to see what I can come up with.  I picked up a neutral enough blush (shade P113) as I like to tone things down coming in to Autumn, I know, I said the A word.  After a lot, and I mean a lot, of consideration, I decided to go with this absolutely gorgeous rosey pink Long Wearing Lipstick in the shade L07 and a Supershine lip gloss which has no shade on it that I can see.  It's a bright coral gloss with gold and orange shimmer in it.  Delightful!

Please take a moment to look at the absolute shine on that lipstick.... I almost don't want to mess it up...

Stay tuned folks for reviews of these products!  What would you like to see first up close and personal?

  9. Yay, Flormar! Greetings from Turkey. Flormar is a Turkish brand that's been around for a long time, but they've really upped their game for the past few years or so. Their long wearing lipsticks are absolutely amazing and they really do last. L15 has become my favourite lipstick in the world. I'd love to see a swatch of that one you have there.
