New MUA eyeshadows, Shade 27, shade 28 & shade 29, photos and swatches

£1 for an eyeshadow.  Or €1.25.  That's loose change at the bottom of your bag!  So on a recent excursion to Belfast, I zoned in on these babies and handed over my £3 (to be said comme ca "freeee paaaahhhhd".  I've lots of these MUA shadows in my collection and they're such good value.  So what were the shades I picked up?  Thought you'd never ask.

First up is my favourite.  Shade 28.  I am in The Love with bronzey autumnal shades at the moment and this one is a warm coppery bronzey shade that screams "Oh holy Moses it's autumn and you know how I know?  Because the X Factor starts this Saturday".  Not many shadows say things like that.  It applies smoothly and evenly, any eejit can blend it due to butteryness and has gorgeous shimmer.  Look it.

Second on the list is the most disappointing of all three.  Shade 27.  Ah you had such good potential in the pan but once swatched, you can see that it's patchy, grainy and made me sad.  I thought this was going to be my inner corner highlight but no.  It wasn't meant to be.

Third up is Shade 29 and when I first saw it I thought it might be a good dupe for MAC's Sumptuous Olive. I don't actually own Sumptuous Olive but if you do, let me know what you think comparison wise.  I don't own anything like this and was curious to see how it fared on my eyeballs.  It was a bit uneven on the arm swatch and I feared it was going to be dumped alongside the previous shade but once on my eyes, it blended out evenly giving me a subtle wash of colour.  If I wanted something more pigmented, I could apply this wet, something to remember ladies.

I played around a little bit and the copper shade is my favourite by a mile.

You should definitely check out the MUA shadows next time you're in your local Superdrug or if you're nowhere near one, you can order online.  Shipping to Ireland is £4.95, so what better excuse to stock up on some bargainous goodies!

  1. The Olive shade is lovely, i wonder would it be more intense worn over an eyeshadow base

  2. These are so pretty on you K - I have Sumptuous Olive and I think the colour is deeper and more goldy/greeny.

  3. Aaah, the bronze! Gorgeous! I'm glad they're still releasing new eye shadows. Apart from the two MUAs I own none of the original collection really took my fancy. x

  4. The first one looks like a dupe for MAC's Bronze eyeshadow too!
