Pixy Aloe Rescue Gel

Now I know you're probably thinking, why is she writing about stuff that helps you skin recover from sun burn when a) we've had no summer thus far and b) summer is technically over.  Well dear readers, it's a scientific fact that the weather is always absolutely scorching and sunny when the kids go back to school and by my calculations, we have a couple more weeks to prepare for the impending heatwave.  And the mass of red sunburnt bodies that fill the streets.

Pixy have developed an Aloe Rescue Gel that helps your skin recover from not only sunburn, but windburn, after shaving, waxing and anything where you're just plain mean to your delicate skin.  It comes in this metal tub and 110g will set you back €10.99.

I was sent this a couple of weeks ago and as I opened the tub, I did what any human being would do when confronted by a tub of ectoplasm;  I shook it and it wobbled.  I still do this every time I use it and it never gets old.  I also put on a Santy voice too.  Just because.

Anyway, the product itself.  It has lots of Aloe Vera Juice (which I've called Hello Vera for ages, thanks Dad) that helps heal your skin and has been around for yonks and is widely known to help sooth burns.  Hence why when you go to the market in Spain, you'll always see a stand with Hello Vera products.  They know that the Irish will scald the legs off themselves.

It also has Tea tree essential oil that promotes skin cell growth and Lavender essential oil that has deep cleansing and antiseptic properties.  You can really smell the essential oils when you open the tub and the first time I used it I thought I was going to smell like that all day but it faded away quickly enough.  The ectoplasm absorbs into my skin and it's weird, for a viscous/loose gel texture, it spreads really easily and a weeny bit will do my whole arm.  It dries quickly and feels really cooling on contact with the skin.  I could probably do with some of it now to help me cool down in this humidity.  It's desperate isn't it?

I'm totallly going to start keeping mine in the fridge to help cool me down even more.  It's only recommended for body use so don't put it on your visage ladies.  Besides, you should always be wearing SPF on your mush!  No excuses!

So don't say I didn't warn you.  I know we're in the middle of a storm right at this moment in time, but I'm telling you, give it two weeks and the sun will be out and you will need this!
