La Roche Posay Hydreane BB Cream

When I first heard that La Roche Posay were bringing out a BB cream, I thought "That makes so much sense, how come I didn't question the lack of BB cream in their range"?  But they've gone and done it and I was delighted when it landed at Casa Girlie Bits last week.

La Roche Posay Hydreane BB Cream
Launching at the end of September, the Hydreane BB Cream is described as 100% skincare and 100% make up and is formulated for sensitive skin.  It has SPF20 and of course has La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water to help moisturise, soothe and soften the skin.

Hydreane BB Cream has 5 missions which is a big ask for one product, but this is La Roche Posay.  They know skincare.  It promises to hydrate for 12 hours, soothe the skin, strengthen the skin's defense mechanism against free radicals, protect your skin from the sun thanks to SPF20 and unify and illuminate your complexion.  Want to see it in action?

La Roche Posay Hydreane BB Cream - Light
When it comes to certain products, I like to try them out before reading the press release so I can form my own initial opinions and then see if they match up to the claims.  If they do, I walk around the house all smug that I know what I'm talking about (not really).  The very first thing I noticed when I applied it first was that it really did add luminosity to my skin, but without looking greasy.  Next thing I noted was that it evened out my skin tone.  I could still see my skin clearly underneath it but it just seem to cover over my imperfections so that it looked like I wasn't wearing make up and had naturally great skin.  This made for a happy Karen!  I toddled off for lunch, safe in the knowledge that I didn't look like I was caked in makeup.

I left it on from about noon until 9pm and my skin felt like it did when I'd first applied it, smooth and moisturised.  I don't have sensitive skin so I can't comment on that part of it but fear not readers, I shall be making Joanne use it and will report back.  She has dry skin that can be sensitive but she's been using Hydraphase moisturiser from La Roche Posay for months now and she has sworn she'll never switch creams.  She hasn't had a single skin issue since using it and I will happily hold that over her forever and ever.   That being said, this BB cream promises to help reduce skin sensitivity so this could be exactly what she's looking for to give her uber skin.  She doesn't wear a lot of make up anyways, so hmmm, I can get her to use this and then she will be even more indebted to me.... This whole La Roche Posay thing is going to work out very well for moi!

La Roche Posay Hydreane BB Cream - Light

Hydreane comes in two shades, light and medium.  I have light and the shade is perfect for my skin tone but I wonder if it's going to be a it dark for those with really pale complexions.  That being said, the coverage itself is minimal so I might be worrying unnecessarily like an old bridie.

If you're looking for something that's going to take good care of your skin and give you some coverage too, then definitely check this out at the end of the month.  I can see this being really handy for those in a rush who don't have time to apply moisturiser and foundation first thing in the morning.  I think it's going to be a gift I'll be buying for new mammies!

Hydreane BB Cream will be in pharmacies nationwide from the end of September and will retail at €18.00.

  7. Do you prefer this one over Garniers bb-cream for combination skin? Or have you tried other ones that are better for just that type of skin?
