As the winter creeps in, so does one of the most annoying things in life. Chapped lips. And because of this, I am never without an abundance of different lip products. Seriously, no human being should carry around what I do, but I do because I need and love them all, like little pals at the bottom of my handbag.
These lip balms from Irish company Pixy arrived at mi casa last week and I couldn't wait to get stuck into them, literally. Coming in little metal tins, they already stand out from the masses of tins I have and only a crazy person who carries aroundher entire lip collection will understand that because they're metal, you can see them at the bottom of your handbag very easily. This makes me happy. Time is money and all.
We got a strawberry, chocolate and mint one to play with and they've also a coconut and honey flavoured one on the site. At €3.99, they're not going to break the bank. Each of the lip balms promise to help soothe, moisturise and protect your poor dry, chapped lips. Each of them also have a base set of ingredients that include cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, shea butter and beeswax.
They're harder in consistency than vaseline based lip balms and if you're using your finger to make it warm then it takes a bit of work so what I do is scrape some off with the back of my fingernail and apply it that way. Much better in all an' anyways.
The mint one is my favourite and smells gorgeous and fresh thanks to the peppermint oil. Joanne had dibs on the strawberry one and I saw it for all of the two minutes it too to take these photos. I'm not mad on the chocolate one as I think it's a cardinal sin to have something chocolate scented near your mouth that isn't actually chocolate. Just kidding, maybe it can help me lose a few pounds!
I've already decided to get a coconut one next year coming in to summer but for now, these guys are very happy at Casa Girlie Bits and we love them!
You can pick them up online here on the Pixy website or in one of the pharmacies that stock the Pixy goodies!
