Liz Earle Botanical Essence No 15 review

Oh ladies, I am in The Actual Love.  With a perfume.  You know yourself, it can totally happen.  Liz Earle Botanical Essence No 15 is mi amore and is exactly what I look for in a scent as the days get colder.

90% of the ingredients are naturally derived and the fifteen botanicals are Damask Rose Absolute, Cedarwood essential oil, Vetiver, Bergamot, Tonka Bean Absolute, Clove Bud Oil, Benzoin Gum, Elemi Gum, Vanilla Extract, Pink Pepper Berry Oil, Sandalwood Essential Oil, Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Guaiacwood Oil, Cypriol Root Oil and Patchouli Oil.

The packaging is Liz Earle all over.  Simple, elegant, understated and you can do a bit of study what with the diagrams of plants on the outside.  It was time I brushed up on some Botany!

The bottle itself is pale green in colour and is just gorgeous.  It feels expensive and I feel like I need to keep it in the velvet lined box, just so I don't mark the bottle.

So on to the scent itself.  It's woody, warm, spicy and exactly what I need during the colder months.  When I wear it, which is a lot, it makes it feel like I'm curled up in front of a crackling fire on a big snuggley armchair with a festive latte.  I feel cosy and warm.  It's described as "clean, sexy and addictive" and I say yes, yes and yes.  I have to stop myself from spraying this every hour at work, but when I do, I physically nestle back into my chair and just feel better about life!

A little really does go a long way with this scent and I usually spritz once on my wrist then dab that wrist against the other one.  If I'm at work, I'll dab both wrists on my neck, but if I'm at home, I give an extra spray to my neck.  Or if you want the scent to last even longer, try lifting your hair up and spraying it at the back of your neck and letting your hair go.  It means you get to be extra swishy with your mane and that's always a good thing.

A 50ml bottle will set you back €53.25.  I know, it's a bit spendy but as I said before, it'll last you for ages.  I can say hand on heart that if I'd have gotten a sniff of this before it was sent to me, I'd have bought it already.  For those of you that know me, make sure to ask me for a whiff of it.  It shouldn't be a problem as I keep it on my person at all times.  It's my absolute perfect autumn winter scent.  And to think I was thinking about getting the latest Chanel one?  Not anymore.

  2. I really want to get my hands on a sample of this. A few bloggers have mentioned they think it would suitable for men because of the woody, spiciness to it. I love how it's 90% naturally ingredients!

    1. It deffo has masculine notes but not as much as the Halle Berry Closer one I reviewed last week. I get a decent amount of vanilla so not sure how boy friendly it would be in the long run, but try and get a sniff of it!
