Anyway my nails. First up are my traditional autumny hues of gold and copper, mixed with a bit of purple. As soon as I saw Gilded Lily by Sally Hansen, I knew it was going to be a fast favourite this season, along with Avon's Lucky Penny. Essence's Gorgeous Bling Bling is an absolute necessity if you're like me and like to match your nails to the turning leaves! I picked up Estee Lauder Smashed a couple of months ago and that long with Sally Hansen's Plum Luck are my kind of dark polishes in that you can actually see that they're a colour and they don't just give you black looking nails.

Now, those of you that aren't nail fiends like myself will think I'm rather mad in my next five polishes. I love love love red nails at this time of year and have many, as you can see, in varying hues. I know some of you are going to see the swatches below and say "Karen, you dirty looking eejit, the red ones look the same". And I will say to you "Whatchoo talkin' about Willis, they big fat aren't". Some have a more blue base to them, others are more orange toned and all are gorgeous. The End. Not really.
The darkest shade is Tweed from Avon and it's a rich vampy shade that I might well plonk on my nails tonight. Fine Red Wine from NYC is a dark rich red and Chelsea Cherry also from NYC is a bright orangey red, almost like a Hollywood red. Avon's Red Reveal is probably the truest red of the bunch and Cherry Jubilee is a maroon tinged red also from Avon. Looking at them all, I'm now confused as to what colour I should paint my nails. They're all absolutely fabulous dahlink and there's nothing like a red nail to add some colour to these grey days.

ReplyDeleteThose 5 reds on the bottom pictures? Yeah, I need them all. I'm with you on the "no they bloody aren't similar. At all" (which is something I tend to say everytime I come back home with a brand new red polish) and I'm shown the box where all the other reds are stored....
