Never mind the size of the bottles, don't these look like sisters? Sisters from another mister but sisters nonetheless.
I love Molton Brown with a passion. But it's a proper treat just because of the price. I ration it carefully, keeping the products for special occasions. The little bottle above is untouched as you can see. The brand sent it to me a couple of months ago and I've been waiting to use it. Trying to pick the perfect time... I know, I can't help it!
So when in Aldi yesterday, and I came across the Abbott & Broome range, I immediately knew what it reminded me of. A little sniff confirmed my suspicions that I was holding on to a dupe of Molton Brown's Heavenly Gingerlily Moisture Bath & Shower gel, my favourite. I had to get it for blogging purposes of course and I can't tell the difference between the two, scent wise. The packaging is a obvious copy of Molton Brown's design, down to the font, the colour and even the name of it. The Aldi version will set you back a measly €1.69 where the Molton Brown version is a whopping €22. I know, it's crazy prices for something that is on you for minutes before disappearing down the plug hole but sometimes you need a bit of luxury!
Now I can have luxury every day! I can see myself using the Aldi version from now on but will still keep buying my loved ones the Molton Brown version as it's always nice to treat them.
I had to pick up another bottle, this time the Tranquil Templetree scent as it was blue and freshly scented and it's just as gorgeous as the Divine Gingerlily scent. A quick look at the Molton Brown site tells me that Tranquil Templetree is a dupe of Molton Brown's Blissful Templetree shower gel.
I think it's safe to say that this is a positively splendid bargain altogether! I mean, come on, €1.69 vs €22?!
Have you tried any of the Abbott & Broome bath & shower gels from Aldi? If not, get your kaboose down to your local Aldi and pick one or two up and enjoy every minute of your baths and showers!
I haven't tried these yet but will now! I got one of the handwashes free one day in Aldi after queueing up to get school trousers for 45 mins only to be told they were sold out!!!They gave us a goodie bag with some stuff in it and the handwash was only gorgeous! Aaron used to make excuses to go and wash his hands! Will let you know the name next time I go!
