No7 Deco Darling Collection with Lisa Eldridge

One of my absolutely favourite things to do is watch a Lisa Eldridge video.  But I can never stop at just one. I can say bye bye to an hour easily watching new videos and replaying older ones that I love.  Before I went away, I made careful notes on her video where she explained her beauty ritual on long flights.  After much consideration, I realised that I'm not Lisa Eldridge and if I started pulling out all my beauty products, they'd think I was mad and turn the plane around.

Lisa is No7's Creative Director and this Christmas, they have a gorgeous limited edition collection to add some glamour to holiday make up looks.  The Deco Darling Collection is inspired by The Great Gatsby and catapults us back to the 1920s and the whole feel and look of the collection makes me yearn so much more for Downton Abbey's Christmas Special!  They're in the 1920s now and I want to be Lady Mary and doll myself up with the Deco Darling Collection.

To me, the star of the show is the Deco Darling Eye Palette at a very reasonable €12.95 and features four rich, deep shadows that can be used to create the much loved smokey eye from back then.  If ever there was a time to sport a sultry eye, this is it and I love a smokey eye like no other.  The shades compliment each other beautifully as you can see in the video at the end of the post and I can't wait to check the palette out in person.  It's one of those palettes that I would feel bad about messing up, I mean, look at the little fan detail in each shadow.  Tell me I'm not the only person who would start in the upper right corner of each shadow so as to leave the design untouched?

There are two Stay Perfect Nail Colours in the collection which retail at €11.75 each.  On the left is Daisy Darling, packed full of pink glitter particles and larger hexagonal discs.  I am allllll about the glitter for most of the year, but come Christmas, you'll rarely see me without sparkly nail polish so this has my name all over it.  For those of you who are much more mature than moi, Speakeasy, a gorgeous gunmetal grey will be right up your street.  Me?  I'd put Speakeasy on first and then Daisy Darling on top.  It's the inner magpie in me, what can I say?

Rounding out the collection is the Deco Darling Loose Powder Highlighter €15.50.  For me, the holiday season is all about going out to places that are warm and cosy, with nice lighting and therefore I wear highlighter consistently when heading out on the town.  Whereas I love a sparkly eye or nail, when it comes to my face, I don't want to be a) a disco ball or b) C3PO from Star Wars.  No, I want something subtle that makes me look like I've a grand glow in the face.  The loose powder highlighter promises to give me an elegant, luminous, golden glow and hey, since I pretty much spill everything down my front as I'm eating, if this makes me more elegant and luminous while I'm at it, then sign me up.

Let's get down to the nitty gritty.  You can either buy this for yourself and look gorgeous while also earning Boots points, or buy it for a loved one and also earn Boots points.  Boots points is free money so either way you're winning.  I've my work party coming up this Friday and have my eye on a lacy dress that in my mind makes me look like Lady Mary but in reality, I look more like O'Brien.  Speaking of Downton Abbey, can we just take a moment for Lady Sybil... Le sigh.

Check out the video below of Lisa putting the palette and highlighter to use.  Also, look at her hair, it's gorgeous.  Not to mention the model's eyelashes and cheekbones... Right, I'm off to watch it again...

The Deco Darling Collection is in Boots until December 25th so either get yourself into your local Boots or send this post to your loved one as a not so subtle hint!
