Rimmel Scandal Eyes waterproof kohl kajal liners - Nude & Taupe, photos, swatches

While perusing the aisles of Boots recently, I caught sight of the Scandal Eyes eyeshadow sticks (find out name) but they didn't speak to me like I'd hoped they would.  I went mad on the Rimmel stand, buying three of the Apocalips liquid lipsticks.  But after further investigation, I saw the Scandal Eyes waterproof kohl liners and decided I needed to try them having not read much about them at all online.

I was proud of myself with my decisions and picked up two shades that I don't have in my collection already.  (Technical note, I do in fact own Stila's Eye Kajal in Topaz but cannot find it so am therefore saying it's gone forever and thus was allowed to buy the nude shade).

My poor eyes are so tired these days and I think it's a combination of the flourescent lights at work, looking at computer screens for ages and fatigue because it's still January.  So I picked up the shade Nude to see if it would help my beady eyes look bigger and more awake.  Then I saw the shade Taupe and I snapped it up as I do love a good taupe-y eye.

Below you can see Nude on the waterline there on the left.  The pencil is soft and creamy and doesn't irritate my eyeball.  On the right I have Taupe smudged along the upper lashline and on the outer corner of the lower lashline.  This is my favourite thing to do with Taupe as it defines my eyes subtly without the need of eyeshadow.

I'm loving the consistency of these pencils.  The creaminess means there's no pulling or tugging against the skin.  From a price point, they're great value at €5.49 and are a welcome addition to my eyeliner collection.

One more side by side shot.  Left = awake eyeball.  Right = defined eyeball.

Have you tried these yet?  And do I need any other shades?

  3. Great review and swatches! I also have Nude and Taupe, and I've been meaning to review them, but my eyes are really ugly (haha), so don't want to take photos. They really do need to be shown on the eyes though, especially Nude.

  7. I have nude but I find it doesn't last too long on my waterline. Then again, as I wear contact lenses my eyes are more watery then most folk!

  9. oooh that nude one looks great - isn't it supposed to be a dupe of the MAC Chromagraphic one or something like that? I can't remember the last time I've used a Rimmel kohl eyeliner but looks totally spot on.
