You know you're a beauty junkie when... volume 3

I think the sheer vastness and amazing-ness of the beauty blogging world has opened a lot of people's eyes.  Mainly it has shown us that we, the product junkies that will forever keep the beauty industry alive on our own, are normal.  We might have thought we were the only crazy lady who had 4 (or 11 *ahem*) different red nail polishes or you have a shower full of half empty shampoos and conditioners, but no, we are all delightfully dotty about beauty products!

This is the third installment of You know you're a beauty junkie when... Click here to read part 1 and here to read part 2.  Yes, I've enough material to write a book at this point!  So here we go!

You know you're a beauty junkie when...

You go into Boots for a deodorant and come out with only a deodorant.

I.  Am.  Brilliant.
Any beauty junkie knows that this is a massive deal and you're not only proud of yourself, but you may have welled up a little bit at your pure restraint given yourself one of these faces for doing it.  It was tough going as they'd lots of 3 for 2 deals going on and not to mention the extra Boots points if you bought three face masks, a blue mascara and Immac.  Be proud of yourself child.... You did good....

You can recognise a beauty junkie at a glance.

Graffiti swatches!
There's nothing better than finding a kindred spirit when you're out and about.  You can spot them a mile away.  They're standing there with a drink in their hand.  You glance over and see said hand is covered in make up swatches and you know you're going to be fast friends with this person.  She even picked your favourite lipliner and is sporting it for all the world to see.  Many a time I've gone out to dinner or drinks and have eyeliner drawn on my hand and it's only when someone points it out that I think "hmm, forgot that isn't normal, must wash off hand next time".

You are proud when you finish a product.

Ta-da!  All gone!
Recently I finished a pot of night cream and felt compelled to Tweet a picture of it for proof.  As a beauty junkie, we often have more than one moisturiser, day cream, mascara etc so finishing something is huge.  I bet if you're a junkie, you can look around your room and find lots of half used products.  Yep, thought so.  I'm not a big fan of posts showing empties as you're essentially looking at photos of rubbish, but that being said, I could never do one of them as I very rarely finish anything but believe me, you'll know when I do!

You buy storage just for your make up.

And that's not even it all...
Like an actual chest of drawers.  You need to go through your stash every few months to dump stuff and reorganise everything, deciding that you need acrylic drawer separators, the Kardashian make up drawers (but let's be honest, they only hold your day to day products, not your entire stash).  You wonder how people can fit their whole make up stash into a shoe box or a vanity case.  You are now doing up your house and are contemplating turning the box room into the beauty room... Or is that just me?

You realise you haven't painted your nails in 4 days and wonder what's wrong with you.

Hmm, somthing's missing
This is then emphasised when a colleague asks you why you don't have nail polish on, that it's very unlike you and asks are you ok.  You don't think you are.  How did this happen?  You decide that you obviously haven't been enticed by a single polish in your collection and need to go out and buy more.  Yes.  That was obviously the problem!

    1. I think what my sister would hold her make up in, I'd have just for eyeshadow brushes alone... The shame!

  3. So Funny Yet So True! Brilliant Post and the definition of a Makeup Junkie (which must be me) I'm on a dry out for the New Year. I lasted till the 9th Jan :@) I never made it out of Boots empty handed but the things I did buy were all less than their normal price and I saved £44 according to the receipt. and yes, the little bedroom which I use as an office does seem to have more of my stash than ever in it. D:)x

    1. Well Dee Jay, one of the laws of life is that when one sees stuff on sale in Boots, one buys it all and saving £44 on stuff is just amazing!!

  13. Great Post! I know exactly what you mean about going into Boots to buy deodrant and only buying deodrant! I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this as a success (I'm always eying up things I don't need and nearly always give in to temptation!). I also have to reorganise my sttash ona regular basis - I love pulling out products I haven't used in awhile as its like discovering them all over again!
