Benefit Fine One One review, photos, swatches

I'm all about cream blushes and love the finish they give on my skin.  I also love multifunctional products and Benefit's Fine One One promises to contour, highlight and add blush to your cheeks and can be used on the lips too.

I couldn't wait to get this on my face and see how I got on, especially after we got to play with it at the launch and I kid you not, everyone had a gorgeous glow on their cheeks.

The packaging is a big hit with me as I love me some rose gold.  The little rotating dial on the front allows you to move the product up and down.

Speaking of product, it's split into three.  The cream stick has a shimmery pink highlighter on one end, a bright watermelon pink in the middle and a bright coral on the other end.

Swatched on my arm, the watermelon pink stands out by miles and is closely followed by the coral with the champagne shimmer bringing up the rear.  It's described as a cream to powder finish product and it feels light and comfortable on the skin.

For those who mightn't be used to cream blushes, I've put together a little step by step guide to help you on your merry way.

1. Stare off wistfully with nary a cheek product on your face.
2. Get Benefit Fine One One and get busy on your cheeks.
3. Stare off wistfully with a big stripe on your cheek and wonder if you look like Adam and the Ants (showing my age there).
4. Using ring finger, dab and blend Benefit Fine One One, making sure it looks even.
5. Stare off wistfully with a flush of colour on your cheeks.

On my face, the colour goes on quite sheer but is buildable and stays put all day.  If you're one who needs more colour in the facial department, then you'll need to layer it and I'd recommend applying a layer, blend it and then apply the next layer.

For me, the contour shade is too bright to give much definition to my cheekbones but once I blend it in with the other shades, it gives a lovely wash of colour on my cheeks.  I don't use it on my lips as it felt weird applying a cream to powder product.  I love the highlighter and it's pinky toned champagne colour will look good on most skin tones.  I like to use it to highlight my brow bone too in case you were wondering.

As a contour product, it's not so great.  But as a blush, it's really lovely and those with pale skin will have no fear of overloading with product on their cheeks.  It makes me look healthy, glowy and that's exactly what I'm looking for right now.

This will set you back €34 and is available now on Benefit counters.  Go in and have a play!

  3. I love cream blushes, but I'm not sure if it'd be too sheer for me, might need to go in to have a closer look :)

  5. Gives a lovely glow to the cheeks, I'm quite dark so don't think the contour would suit me in this shade x
