Kardashian Khroma Beauty Exclusive Mascara Quartet review - photos

I will say it loud and proud, watching The Kardashians is my guilty pleasure.  And when I heard that Kim, Khloe and Kourtney were coming out with their own make up line, I was very intrigued altogether.  Their make up is always flawless and I'm pretty sure they don't use their own line of products, but nonetheless, I still wanted a piece of the action and when Cloud10Beauty offered to send me something from the collection, I was delighted!

The Khroma Mascara Quartet (€26.95) aims to be a one stop shop for all your eyelash-y needs.  It has four mini mascaras with four different personalities if you will and each wand is completely different to the next as you'll see below.

From top to bottom we have Eye Fidelity, the waterproof mascara.  The gold tube is Stroke of Midnight, which promises extra volume.  The Quickie, in the blush tube gives instant lengthening and thickening and on the bottom we have Whip Lash which gives lush, healthy lashes.  I love that the packaging for each mascara is completely different as it means you can grab one and go without having to squint and read the bottom of the tube.

First up is Eye Fidelity.  This is the waterproof mascara and is sadly my least favourite of the four.  The wand is one of those ones that cinches in at the middle and is wider at each end.

Formulation wise, it was really dry and I don't know if that's the way it's supposed to be or if this one was a bit dried out.  The one benefit of a slightly drier formula is that you can build layers but for the purpose of the post, each mascara is shown with one coat.  Eye Fidelity fanned my lashes out nicely and didn't clump at all. If you like natural wispy lashes then you'll get on great with this one.  You know me though, the more the better!

The Quickie comes in the pinky blush packaging and has a long narrow wand with plastic bristles.

This mascara was great.  It lengthened and thickened my lashes beautifully and I loved how the wand combed through each lash.  The fact that the wand is so big means that it picks up a lot of product, so half way through my application, it ended up clumping for a few seconds, but a little perseverance and combing through with the now near empty wand left me with these lovely lashes.  The Quickie gives some curl and length but mostly it gives a grand amount of volume.

Stroke of Midnight has the smallest wand of all four and at first I thought it had natural bristles, but a quick wipe revealed fine plastic bristles.

Again, this was on the dry side and didn't give me the extra volume or false lash look at all.  The tiny bristles meant I could get every lash and comb through them easily but it was disappointing.

I've saved the best for last in the form of Whip Lash!  The brush made me go ooh as the bristles on one side are longer than the other!  I've not seen any other wand on the market like this so was instantly intrigued.  Not only was it flat on one side and bristle-y on the other but the bristles went from short to long and I couldn't wait to try this out.

I wasn't disappointed at all ladies.  The bristles meant I could comb through the lashes easily, using the tip to get into the inner corner and using the longer bristles on the end to comb out the lashes on the outer corner.  I used the flat side to work on my lower lashes and was left with long, voluminous, lifted, separated, beautiful lashes.  The formulation was perfect and this mascara is now in The Make Up Bag That I Bring With Me Everywhere.

So it's a bit of a mixed bag with the mascara quartet.  I'm not giving up on the weaker two just yet as things can change, especially with mascaras.

At €26.95, it's slightly on the steep side but being able to try four different mascaras helps you pick the ones you'd buy in full size.  I know I'd buy Whip Lash in full size if they were available, but until then, my minis will have to suffice!

You can buy the Khroma Beauty range here on Cloud 10 Beauty.  Have you tried anything from the Kardashian sisters yet?
