Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix foundation review, before and after photos

Hand on heart, for me, Bourjois do the best affordable foundations, with the notable exception of the Bio Detox one that I just couldn't get to work for me no matter how many reviews and tutorials I read.  But I digress.  When I heard Bourjois were bringing out a new, updated, reformulated, repackaged, fandangly version of my favourite affordable foundation, Healthy Mix, I couldn't wait to get it on my face.

And when they sent it to me last week, they made me a very happy lady and I got ready to reveal my radiance.

What's the difference between this offering and the original Healthy Mix foundation?  It's all in the name.  Radiance Reveal.  Now, when you hear the word radiance being bandied about, you might think you'll have to deal with shimmer and for those of us who aren't blessed with teeny weeny pores will have to hold it at arm's length, but fear not, there's not a scrap of shimmer to be found here.  Phew.  We're talking dewy glow baby.  Also, those of us with oily skin needn't worry that we'll shine bright like a diamond as it leaves a satin finish to the skin as you'll see in the before and after photos below.

It's enriched with a fruit therapy formula and has that same apricot fruity scent that I love.  Crystalline pigments even out the skin tone while allowing the light to give you your glow.  It feels really lightweight on the skin and gives a light to medium coverage.  I like to apply one layer all over my face and see how I go.  If my skin is a bit worse for wear, I can easily apply another light layer on the worse bits.  All of the photos here show one pump full of product and you can see that it evens out my skin tone, covers redness, blemishes and makes it look like my skin is naturally gorgeous!  I can get away with a good 6 hours of wear before needing to powder my t-zone which I'm happy with.  For those with drier skin, fear not as this wonderous stuff also hydrates the skin along with everything else.

The only thing I'd change would be the packaging.  This one is glass compared to the plastic tube that pushed the product up from the bottom.  I'm a clumsy oaf and am going to need to try not to break it.  But that's my one and only complaint about this.

Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix foundation is on counters now and will set you back €14.99.  Well worth in my opinion and I would have bought it myself if Bourjois hadn't sent it out.  I absolutely love this foundation and it has now topped my list for best affordable foundation!

Love it love it love it.  Can you tell I love it?

  9. Oh wow this looks so nice and natural on your skin. I'm a big fan of the original Healthy Mix so I shall have to give this a go. I'm always on the lookout for a natural looking foundation that still gives a good coverage. =) xXx

  10. I've wanted to try this foundation for a really long time, but am worried no shades will be pale enough. What are your opinions on this? What are the range of tones like? Looks really great on you btw, such a nice healthy glow!

  13. I've heard that this new foundation is pinker than the older ranges (original, serum...). Do you think it's true?
