Garnier 5 Sec Perfect Blur review - before and after photos galore!

Em, something that promises to visibly blur the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, shine and pores?  Sign me up and get on my face Garnier 5 Sec Perfect Blur.

Here at Lovely Girlie Bits, what you see is what you get.  I don't photoshop or edit any photos other than cropping them and making a little collage if I'm feeling creative.  But full disclosure, recently I totally photoshopped a wild eyebrow hair that was distracting me from a lovely eye make up look, but that's it, I promise!  What's the point in airbrushing your skin in photos, only to meet someone in person and for them to think "Girlfriend looks nothin' like she does on the interwebs!"

So Garnier have brought out a product that promises to give an even base for foundation so we can have an airbrushed finish to the skin in real life.  It diffuses light to give a soft focus effect on the skin.  Sounds good to me!

The formula is light and has an almost whipped, velvety texture.  It applies smoothly and evenly over the skin and acts like a filler over the larger pores I have on my schnozz and either side of it.  During the summer, as I wear lighter products on the skin and go for that dewy glowy look, the size of my pores is directly proportional to the amount of glow I'm rocking.  The sun seems to bounce off the edges of my pores, making them look like craters and that's not very summer 2013.  So 5 Sec Perfect Blur is pore-tastic for me.

In terms of wrinkles and fine lines, most of mine are around the eyes and I don't use many products that close to my eyes.  I do have frown lines, or as I like to call them, concentration lines at my forehead.  5 Sec Perfect Blur takes away the harshness of them, but I need something much stronger than that to fill out those bad boys.  I'm talking industrial strength stuff!

1. Bare skin || 2. Garnier BB Cream || 3. Garnier 5 Second Blur || 4. Garnier 5 Second Blur & BB Cream
It keeps shine at bay all day and acts as a wonderful primer, keeping my foundation in place for longer.  I did find though that it had a tendency to cling to a couple of dry patches I had on my forehead and cheek, so a little exfoliation is needed if you're going for the flawless airbrushed finish.

Below is a photo of bare skin on the left and fully made up skin with the 5 Sec Perfect Blur and the Garnier BB Cream on top.  I love the finish on my skin and these two products work seamlessly together.  I haven't used my Garnier BB Cream in a while and had forgotten how much I love it, so I'm glad it's a rediscovery!

Now, it's one thing showing you bare skin and fully made up skin including the 5 Sec Perfect Blur.  But you want to see the difference between skin with just the BB Cream vs skin with 5 Sec Perfect Blur and BB Cream don't you?  Well here you go!  You can see that the coverage on my nose is better and more even in the bottom photo and the pores on either side of my nose look smaller.  Result Garnier... Result.

I think it's safe to say that I'm a complete believer in Garnier's 5 Sec Perfect Blur and am loving the airbrushed effect it gives my skin.  I mean look at the photo below... A grand mug shot on the left that is worthy of Amanda Bynes minus the mad wig and the after photo is what I look like all the time!

This is in shops now and retails at €19.99, so if you're face isn't naturally airbrushed, then this is one to check out!

  1. Gorgeous! This looks similar to the Loreal Miracle blue product I've seen floating about the interwebs... of course, Australia has yet to see either of these products. Shame!

  7. I've just recently purchased this based on your review and I have to say, I love it! I've also followed your makeup routine on YouTube and already, I'm finding that the makeup is staying put more throughout the day with much less shine than before. The application of the BB cream using a brush has definitely made a big difference. Thank you so much!
