La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Masque review

Ooh I feel all French typing masque instead of mask.  So last year I got a little preview of the Hydraphase Intense Mask on my visit to La Roche-Posay and was given a couple of mini samples to try out.  Well, I'd like you all to know that I'm pretty sure I'm the reason that it's finally made it to Irish shores because I wished and hoped and prayed with all my might that they'd bring it out here.  So you're welcome oh ye who have the dry visages!

Enriched with Hyaluronic Acid Fragments and the famous Thermal Water from La Roche-Posay, this lightly scented gel-cream textured mask not only hydrates the skin, but soothes it too.  I've been trialling it out for a few weeks now and without a shadow of a doubt it's the best hydrating mask I've used to date.

I like to apply a generous blob (that's a scientific measurement don't you know) onto my fingers and then smooth it evenly over my face.  The first time I used the mask, I noticed something, but wasn't sure if I was seeing things or not, so the second time, I studied what was happening on my face as I applied it.  I watched the drier parts of my skin absorb the mask almost instantly and the less dry parts of my face took longer to absorb it.  My dry bits literally drank it up before my eyes!  The instructions say to tissue off the excess, but I like to throw caution to the wind like the wild bridie I am and leave it on as long as possible.  My favourite thing to do is to apply a layer before bed time, read a book (I'm reading the new Dan Brown one at the moment in case you're interested) and then by the time I'm ready to nod off, it's absorbed enough so I can nod off without the fear it's going to smear all over my pillowcase, leaving that lovely and hydrated and not my mush.

I already know this is going to be in my skincare routine from now on and as the days get colder, it'll help protect it from the cold and it's suitable for all skin types, even those with sensitive skin.  The fact that it helps keep my skin hydrated, thus making me perpetually look 21 is an added bonus and I'll definitely be getting Joanne to try this out as she only uses the Hydraphase moisturiser from the range on her face and nowt else.

The Hydraphase Intense Masque (ooh la la) is €16.50 and available in chemists and usual stockists now.

Au revoir mes chéries for je suis off to apply le masque to ma visage dans le salle de bain.  Ou est le centre de George Pompidou?  And they say Leaving Cert French leaves you after the exams.. I say "beouf"!
