Maybelline The Eraser Eye Concealer review, before and after photos

Here at Lovely Girlie Bits, you don't hear me waffling much about concealers.  They're probably one of the most necessary things I actually need on my face every day, but yet I don't wear them very often.  I think it's because I haven't found any that I really like and make much of a difference, so in the interest of being time efficient in the mornings, I've eliminated concealers from my routine.

Until now.

When Maybelline's Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye Perfect & Cover Concealer arrived through the letterbox recently, I got busy with it.  I'd seen the foundation version of this in shops but never picked it up just because of the packaging issue and being afraid that I'd start to grow stuff on the sponge applicator and yes, I'm still a bit scared of that when it comes to the concealer.  The idea is you twist the base to release the product which comes out of the spongey part and apply it directly onto your skin.

The concealer itself is light in texture, but has great payoff in the pigmentation stakes.  I only need the smallest amount to cover my dark circles and because I don't use that much, there's no creasing on me which is my biggest bugbear when we're talking concealers.

I like to apply a layer of the product and blend it in using my ring finger and I find doing it that way works the product into my skin and gives a more natural finish along with the pretence of having had a good night's sleep!  It doesn't cake or dry out my skin and I like to set it with my face powder to make sure it stays put all day, which it does.

The Eraser Eye Concealer is in shops now and at €11.99, it's one of the best affordable under eye concealers I've tried to date.  There are three shades; Light, Medium and Nude.   The true test will be this weekend when I test it out on Joanne's dark circles.  We're doing make up tips as she's doing something very exciting altogether, so is getting her hair did, brows threaded and eyes concealed!  So stay tuned for an update on this post and see how The Eraser gets on with her circles!

What's your go to concealer to banish dark circles?

  2. Hi
I have been looking forward to this after seeing it on american blogs and you tube but when I saw it in the shops the other week and there were only two shades one too light and one too dark so I decided to wait until the medium was in stock. In america they seem to have a brightening one I wonder is that coming out

  3. How do you think it would work for someone with slightly dryer skin around the eyes?

  5. I'm awful, I never use concealer and I really need to. I've an Aldi one I want to use up before I get another one, but I already have the Maybelline 24hr superstay one on the list. I'm a bit wary of stuff that comes with sponges!

  7. I use DHC's Rose Beauty Eye Zone Retouch Treatment Q10 in Peach to cancel out the bluish tones in my dark circles (a color theory that I've heard about for years, but didn't think it works -- it does work-- really!). Oftentimes, I can get away with just using the Peach with some setting powder on top to prevent creasing. If I need more coverage, i.e., the dark circles are particularly bad, I use the Peach first followed by Estee Lauder's Double Wear Concealer, with everything well blended (brush and fingers).
