Clarins Graphic Expression eyeshadow palette - Forest; photos, swatches, tutorials

Simple and elegant are the words that spring to mind when I'm talking about the gorgeous Forest eyeshadow palette from Clarins' Graphic Expression autumn collection.  Each season they bring out a beautiful eyeshadow palette, each one as fabulous as the last and this one is no exception.

With shades of taupe, khaki, forest green and champagne, this is a palette that really will take me from day to night, depending on how much I pack on.  And we know I like to pack it on.

The champagne shade is the lightest in colour and pigmentation and I learned to use the sponge applicator that comes with the quad to pat it gently on.  The taupe and khaki green shades have a satin finish and blend like buttah, where the dark forest green, flecked with fine gold glitter, is deep, dark, pigmented and has smokey eye written all over it.

As I mentioned, you can do a natural look or smoke it up a bit for nighttime and I had a little play recently to show you what you can achieve.  And you can.  If I can do this, so can you.

I started by applying the champagne shade to the inner half of the eyelid.  Then I took the taupe shade and applied it to the outer half of the eyelid, taking it up to the crease.  A sweep of mascara and there's a 2 minute neutral eye.  But I couldn't stop there.  Using an angled brush, I took the forest green shade and lined the upper lashline with it, giving a bit more drama to the look, but without it being a harsh black line.

For the second look, I followed the little tutorial card that comes with the palette.  I took the khaki green shade and applied it to the inner half of the eyelid.  Then taking the taupe shade, I swept that on the outer half of the eyelid and took it under the lower lashes.  Finally, I brought the forest green shade into the crease and intensified the outer corner of the eyes, giving a grand smokey eye in mere minutes.

The Forest eyeshadow palette is €41 and on counters now.  We love this here in Casa Girlie Bits, we love it a lot and shall have gorgeously elegant neutral eyes this autumn!

  3. I loooove this palette but the forest green (reason of the purchase) doesn't last on me! :( I tried it wet and it didn't fare better. Next step is to try it with a cream shadow under it.
