L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint review, before & after photos

A couple of weeks ago, I basically had the same experience as Orla from MakeUp Over Mind in that I went to try the new YSL Serum foundation, but they didn't have my shade in stock, but the sales assistant gave me a sample to try.  It worked out well because a) about two hours after trying the YSL foundation, I noticed my face was a big shiny ball and it had gathered in all of my pores.  All of them.   So I took myself to Boots, deciding I needed a new foundation no matter what, and picked up the new Nude Magique Eau De Teint from L'Oreal.

Now, I am a foundation junkie as you'll see very soon and I can totally justify my purchase as I've nothing like this in my collection.  I've got my fair share of liquid foundations and a couple of cream ones, but Nude Magique is completely different in terms of consistency.  It's more thin and runny than a liquid foundation and that's because it contains volatile oils which evaporate off the skin, leaving a flawless finish, but without feeling like you're wearing anything on your skin at all.

I like the dinky little frosted glass bottle which is small enough to carry around in your makeup bag, but because the foundation is so runny, I'd love a pump or pipette to dispense it.  It's advised to shake the foundation and then holding a finger over the top of the bottle, tip it over and whatever's left on your finger, you apply to your face.  I like to place a dot on my forehead, one on each cheek and chin and work it in using a buffing brush, but you can use your fingers too.  If I feel like I need any extra, I add more.  Wild, I know.

Lads, this foundation is amazing.  Seriously.  I'm talking one of the best I've tried to date.  It goes on sans effort and even with my 3 minute makeup routine in the morning (not by choice, I just can't get up earlier), my skin looks flawless and totally natural, like I'm wearing nothing on my face.  See, over the years, I've gone from wanting to have perfect looking foundation, to wanting to have perfect looking skin, so this fits the bill beautifully.  Nude Magique gives a matte finish, but again, is super natural looking despite being really pigmented and even though I've an oily t-zone, it keeps shine at bay until around lunch time, but if I powder in the morning, it stays matte all day.

I bought shade 100 which is a perfect match for me and at €12.99, I was happy to shell out my spondoolies for this absolute beaut.  And late last week, I got sent another one, so lads, I'm sorted for ages now because this it's going to take me a long time to get through one bottle because a little goes a long way.

This is definitely one to try folks and get the thumbs up from moi!

  7. It is an amazing foundation. It feels and delivers like something at about three times the price. I bought warm ivory which is fantastic for very pale skin with a yellow undertone. I have never found a foundation shade (other than Bobbi Brown) which matches my skin so well: this makes me look healthy rather than deathly. X

    1. I felt that we were both restrained (you more than me as the only reason I didn't get the YSL one was because my shade wasn't there, but still, I went away empty handed ;)

  13. What I love about it - is it doesn't look like your make up. I love my bottle of the stuff too! The only thing about it is, it's too runny! But that's not even a biggy for me!
