Michael Kors has come to Arnotts!

Ever since hearing that the Michael Kors beauty collection was coming to Arnotts a few months ago, I found myself perusing (loitering in) the Beauty Hall every time I was in town, waiting for it to appear.  I used to check each corner and wall, making sure I hadn't missed it and often wondered where they'd put it.  I know… I'm an oddball, but I was dying to see the products!  Some of the products have been available to buy on the Arnotts website for a while, but it's not the same as going in and seeing everything, touching everything, trying to talk yourself out of buying something and side stepping away, keeping constant eye contact with the product you want, before copping on and knowing that you do in fact need that nude lipstick, that you deserve a treat, that it's payday, or Wednesday, any excuse!

So yesterday, the beauty collection from Michael Kors launched in Arnotts and when you get the invite to pop along for a look and a manicure, you say yes.  You get giddy (which lasts all day every day), put it in your calendar at home and on your phone, less you forget God forbid.  You do your hair, plan your route in Googlemaps from work and sweat buckets that you're going to be late because of the stupid traffic and road works that they're insisting on doing at this time of year.

But when you get there… This is what you see…

The counter is sleek and sexy, like myself and unlike me, it houses makeup and scents that represents each of the three facets of the Michael Kors woman (and me - ahem); Sporty, Sexy and Glam.  I am quite obviously all three and that's the reason why I love the whole collection.  Not the fact that I'm a complete and utter beauty junkie…  Look at the packaging…… Yes, you will need to wear soft clothing when using the products so you can shine them up good and proper, getting rid of any fingerprints, but look at it….

As I mentioned above, the collection is broken down into Sporty, Sexy and Glam and in terms of scent, it's rare that I love every scent in a range.  Sporty Citrus is light, bright with orange and mandarin notes that dries down to a creamy, woody scent that will be perfect for me next summer.  Sexy Amber is a warm musky scent but mixed with citrus and white florals, means that it's sexy yet feminine.  Finally Glam Jasmine…. I'll be reviewing this properly soon but anything with jasmine is right up my street and it's true love.  More on that soon.

On to the makeup.  The Sporty nudes are understated, wearable and totally moi.  A taupe polish (Sportyhint) €20 and white (Gossip) are combined with Sportydiva (€30.50) and Muse (€27.50), a nude lipstick and lip gloss that are for those of us who are on the go and want to look put together.

The Sexy bright pinks are in your face and need to be on my face.  The two polishes, Sexyscandal and Sensation (€20) are summer in nail polish form, being fuchsia and bright red respectively.   When trying to decide which polish to pick for my manicure, I was this close to picking that insanely gorgeous red, but opted for a darker shade as you'll see below.  Sexybombshell (€30.50) is described as being a true red but is more pink to me, with shimmer to give lots of shine.  The matching gloss, Siren Lip Luster (€27.50) is a bright fuchsia with fine shimmer running through it and is gorgeous on.  More on that soon.

Finally we have the darker, richer shades of the Glam collection.  The two polishes, Glamenvy and Desire (€20) are violet and ebony brown respectively and I fell in love with Glamenvy instantly…  Despite the lip lacquer, Glamdame (€30.50) and lip luster Icon (€27.50) looking quite dark, they're more sheer than they look and are totally wearable, especially at this time of the year.

A trio of bronzers make up the rest of the makeup portion of the range and sweet motherajaysis the packaging on them is gorgeous.  We're talking huge mirror, a decent sized blush, gold everything and just gorgeous.  Each of the three shades are finely milled and rather than being bronzers to contour with, they're more for sweeping over your face, adding a touch of colour and shimmer and giving you a grand glow.  Sportyglow, Sexyflush and Glambeam are all €45 and will last for yonks.

Now, enough of the makeup, let's talk body products.  If you're on the hunt for luxurious treats for your body, then the Indulgent Body Creme €56, Shimmer Bath Beads €42 or Liquid Shimmer Dry Oil Spray €43 will not only make your skin look and feel divine, but for someone brought out a Leg Shine collection, Michael Kors wants us to have shimmery, illuminated skin and the body collection is just the thing to help us achieve that.

So I picked Glamenvy for my manicure and sure how could I not?  I spent the drive home in the dark trying to admire it but alas, had to wait until I'd actual light to fully appreciate all that it is.  And it's beautiful!  Also, Secret Santa time is coming up and for €20, how happy would any girlie be to get this beaut?!

So basically, if you're in Arnotts, go forth and check out the Michael Kors counter.  And I want you to go smell the Glam Jasmine scent and tell me you don't love it!  I'll review it properly very soon.  They've got gift sets galore in there so if you're in need of a present for yourself or a loved one, then go visit them and tell them I sent you.  You will probably see me there, bathed in all the scents and wearing all the makeup, so don't judge me!

  3. I am soooo jealous. Why why WHY did they have to pick Arnotts as their exclusive, why not BT or Debenhams so I'd have some chance of getting to try them in the near future. Gutted I tells ya, gutted I am. That polish you tried looks fab and I need to try the jasmine perfume. And the €20 would be perfect for my #bbloggersSS gift cause I have no idea what to buy.
