Bloggy organisational tools

If I could blog full time, I totally would, but alas, at the moment it doesn't pay the bills!  So until I start making serious cashola, I'll continue to work full time and blog/film videos in my spare time which means I need to be organised in the bloggy world and the real world.  Blog comes first and real life comes second and after finishing this post, I'll be off to organise my stash a bit!  I know a lot of people resolve to be more organised in the new year, so I thought I'd give you a look see at what'll help me do just that this year.

My brain is always ticking over with ideas for posts and now that we've started making videos, this adds to the amount of stuff I need to keep track of.  Obviously my family heard my call because this Christmas, they gave me some organisational tools to help keep me on the straight and narrow this year.

Calendar

Joanne made me this cute calendar with photos of Bailey as he's the centre of the world, in his eyes anyway!  I love calendars like this that have a photo on the top and boxes I can write in underneath.  That way, I can keep track of nights out, launches and events and when Joanne is over, she can see it too because generally if there's something on after work, I need her to stop by to feed Bailey like the good auntie she is!

Shopping list notebook

Technically this isn't just for blogging purposes as I use it every single week when doing my groceries.  Otherwise I'd end up with a trolley of things I couldn't make a meal with, which has happened one too many times let me tell you.  But when I'm taking trips to Boots where I have a budget and specific things I need, then this is perfect for keeping me in check because we all know how easy it is to lose the run of ourselves when in Boots!  I got this for a couple of euro in Penneys ages ago.

Weekly planner

My bro and his girlfriend bought me this planner for Christmas and it's one I had in my hands a few weeks ago in Paperchase, but put it back, promising I'd pick it up in the sales.  I shall be able to see a week at a time and plan what posts will go on which day and the same for videos.  I might even use it for household things to do too now that I'm just so gosh darn organised.

Moleskine weekly planner

This was also a gift from the broseph and his girlfriend and is a perfectly sized weekly planner that I can keep with me in my handbag all the time.  It's perfect for jotting down things I need to do, events that are coming up and other such very exciting things altogether.  Because I'm not always beside a calendar and always forget to add reminders for things into my phone, this is a welcome addition to casa Girlie Bits.

Random notebook

Because having a weekly planner, shopping list, calendar and a planner notebook wasn't enough, I also use this dinky little notebook I bought in Spain last year too.  I am a stationary junkie through and through and this is the thing - I don't like messing up nice, expensive notebooks and planners with mistakes, so I use this one to make my notes, lists etc and then transfer the finalised list and details into my "good" stationary.  I can't help it, I've always been like this!  I use this notebook for meetings and events where I need to take notes and over the weekend used it to jot down my list of blog and video ideas for the next few weeks.

So if you hear me say I need to get more organised, please smack me upside the head because I have all the things.  All of them.  I need nothing else to help me stay organised.  But if I did, what would I need?  What do you use to stay organised folks?  To the comments!

  1. Love the 52 week planner thing, usually just use a diary and a notebook for blogging and lots of nice coloured pens! Makes it easier!

  3. I love stationary. I get notebooks and don't write in them as they're so nice! I should really knock that on the head. I have 2 2014 diaries, one as a food diary for SW. The other is a money diary where I write down everything I pay for the keep track of the spends. I have that cupcake notebook too, I write down a shopping list weekly.

  4. I'm the same, I've a similar calendar at home and always carry my Filofax (complete with year and weekly planners and to-do lists) as well as a note book. That's just at home. My work organisation is a whole other level x

  6. What is it about bloggers and stationery?! I swear there's something to it...think it's just reflective of the organisational/slight OCD traits you need to maintain a blog over time! Really want some new notebooks and a fancy pants 2014 diary, but it'll probably be March before I find the 'right one'... Happy New Year btw!

I even have two 2014 diaries, one as a food diary for sou'-west. the opposite could be a cash diary wherever I write down everything I buy the keep track of the spends. I even have that cake notebook too, I write down a searching list weekly.
