Everyday neutral eye with the Smashbox Full Exposure palette - video

I'm back with a short video for your viewing pleasure today.  I'm working on a mini series of quick videos showing you how you can achieve different looks with the Smashbox Full Exposure palette.  As I said before, I was given this to play with but would have 100% bought it myself because the love for it was too strong.

Today's post and video is all about the mattes in the Full Exposure palette.  Well some of them anyway.  For me, the key with matte shadows is to layer slowly and blend until you get carpal tunnel syndrome.  It's easier to add more than try to correct it if you apply too much, so gently gently, softly softly.

I love doing neutral eye makeup for work as I work in an office and like to keep things low key in the eyeshadow department.  Sometimes.  Other times I like to go wild with the colour, but that's mainly during the summer when you can get away with a lot more makeup!

Now, one of the main justifications in buying another neutral palette like this one is "Will I use it enough?"  And here's my two cents.  Yes.

Here's a few more cents.  The joys of a versatile palette like this one is being able to use it during the day and at night and while I've been using the warm mattes going to work, I'd be able to use them in a different way for going out at night, thus justifying the purchase of a palette even more.

So here's a quick 5 minute video showing you how to do a matte neutral eye that can be made smokier if you like.  The shadows are a dream to work with and make life so much easier when I'm still half asleep in the morning but still need to look like a human being.

The Smashbox Full Exposure palette is available now in Arnotts and on Smashbox counters for the princely sum of €43.

It is love.

  4. You look stunning in that video. LOVE how you use the matt shadows and I'm glad to know there are actual matt shadows out there as they are the most forgiving on ahem older and more wrinkly eyes!
