Michael Kors Bronze Powder - Flush review, photos, before & after

This year, I have decided I'd like Jennifer Lawrence's cheekbones thank you very much.  But since I won't suddenly sprout high, lifted, plump cheeks of my own accord, I'll have to make do with the power of makeup.  And I have an inkling that while 2013 was the year of the hair, 2014 will be the year of the cheeks for moi.

My first instalment of Operation Get Jennifer's Cheekbones Somehow comes courtesy of quite possibly one of my favourite cheek products since Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blushes.  As you will know by now, Michael Kors has a beauty counter in Arnotts where they sell makeup, nail polish, fragrances and body products.

There are three bronzing powders in the collection and I've been testing out Flush for the past few weeks and am trying not to acknowledge the other two beautiful shades in the collection… We'll see how long that lasts.

Packaging?  Gowjus like the rest of the collection.  This plastic gold compact is lightweight and massive, making it portable in terms of weight but not really in terms of size.  But by God I make sure this is in my makeup bag every day and other items have been removed to make room for this.  At €45 it sounds expensive, but there's so much product in it (21g, compared to 6g for a MAC blush) that I can't see myself running out anytime soon and despite using it every single day since the start of December, I still haven't managed to mess up the logo imprinted on the powder.

Having a big compact like this means having a big mirror which makes me happy.  I do spend time removing any paw prints from the gold as I'm a weirdo but I suspect that'll stop soon.

Let's get on to the product itself.  Flush is described as giving a shimmering tan with a healthy, rosy glow and I couldn't have put it better myself.  The finely milled powder is quite pigmented so start with a light hand and then go wild with your bad self.  Although there's shimmer in it, it works in such a way to highlight the cheeks rather than making you look like a dirty big disco ball and the glow… Oh the glow it gives just makes me happy and is what makes me reach for it every single day.

I like to apply it just under my cheekbones as a contour and then blend it upwards.  I've gone off applying things to the apples of my cheeks these days and instead am focusing on trying to lift those apples as high as I can.  If I'm looking particularly pale that day and want a little more life in my face, I dust it across my forehead and nose making it look like I've just come back from a walk on the beach, when in fact I've been sitting in my room packing on the makeup!

I absolutely love the formulation of Flush and while some blushes and bronzers can look a bit powdery, muddy or cakey on the skin, this makes it look like my own skin is gorgeous and perfect.  You can't ask for more than that.  It lasts all day which means that come home time, I still look lovely and healthy, rather than what I'm feeling inside, which is the absolute need to get home and into my pyjamas!

Jennifer, you'd better watch out because I'm coming for your cheekbones.

The bronzing powders are available in Arnotts now for €45 and whenever I finish this one (and I will because I can't not put it on every day), I'll be purchasing another one.  Fact.
