Clinique Cheek Pop – Peach Pop review, photos, swatches

I seem to be in a bit of bother in that I’m cheating on my Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy with the new Clinique Cheek Pop in Peach Pop.  I decided that after reaching the end of March in one piece, I deserved a treat and this decision was made when walking by the Clinique counter in Debenhams a couple of weekends ago and I caught sight of the Cheek Pops.  I didn’t even swatch them and picked up Peach Pop because you know me by now, I love peach and corals on my face.

Things I love about it: 1. The packaging.  It’s clear acrylic, is really thick and feels substantial in the hand.  Sounds rude, but it’s not.  It’s sturdy and won’t open when being brought around with me in my makeup bag.  Despite it’s sturdiness, it’s nice and lightweight.

2. The design.  It always takes me ages to get around to using things that look as pretty as this because I hate messing it up, but it has to be done.  But look at it, isn’t it boodyful?

3. The finish.  I’m all about luninous skin and this gives me a pop of colour on the cheeks without looking powdery at all.  It’s got a beautiful satin finish that almost looks like a cream blush on the skin and actually looks like skin.  It has an ever so slight sheen to it, but don’t worry, it’s not glittery or shimmery, it just gives radiance and we like radiance don’t we? Things I don’t love about it: Nothing.  It’s amazing.

Colour payoff is fantastic but it can be sheered out while also being totally buildable, so if you want a light wash of colour, take your time and you don’t have to worry about being heavy handed and looking demented.  On the other hand, if you want more oomph on your cheeks, then lash on a couple of layers and it still looks effortlessly natural.  Peach Pop lasts a full work day on me and honestly, I can’t fault it at all.  For €20, it’s nothing short of perfection and now I want Ginger Pop too.  There are two pinky shades in the collection but you know me, warmer blushes suit me more.

If you have cheeks, you need this.  Fact.  I don’t make this stuff up you know.
