L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick by Color Riche - Nude Vibrato & Tangerine Sonate

One of the best things ever in a beauty lover's life is having a wander around Boots and seeing something you've been dying to get your paws on but didn't know was on counters.  So this happened last month while I was in town doing a few bits before a meeting.  I couldn't help it and I did get a bit of a bargain as they were buy one get one half price.  Justification right there folks.

So I don't know a huge amount about these L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks from L'Oreal other than what little I've read online, but what I can tell you that it's probably good for my wallet that they weren't on offer at 3 for 2 because I would've picked up lots more.  I picked up two shades that I thought I'd get lots of wear out of, a nude and an orange-y coral.  I know, predictable eh?

Tangerine Sonate and Nude Vibrato were my lippies of choice but after talking to Mags from Emerald Eyeliner over dinner earlier this month and she said she loved the shade Molto Mauve and I think it's only a matter of time before I pick it up myself because it looks gorgeous on her and she's a massive enabler of mine.

Let me first talk about the applicator.  If you can see in the photo above, it's slightly bent and is quite wide, so picks up a lot of product.  Way too much product, so I always have to scrape some off on the side of the tube.  The applicator itself reminds me of a microfibre cloth in that the little strands that pick up the product are quite long and dense, so I only ever use one side to apply the product to my lips, otherwise it gets gloopy and that ain't right.

These feel silky smooth on the lips and feel only slightly tacky after about an hour, and they stay in place for the guts of two hours or so.   They feel so moisturising on and I'd go as far as to say that they feel like a treatment on the lips.  As someone with uber dry lips, I'm always on the hunt for something with colour and that won't dry them out.

Nude Vibrato is a pale pinky nude shade that is great for everyday wear.  Apply too much though and it looks too creamy and when I go nude on the lips, I like it to be semi sheer.  There are a few nudey shades in the range and this was the more natural, pinky toned nude which is much more wearable for moi.

Tangerine Sonate though, is a different kettle of fish.  I knew it was going to be true love from the first swatch.  It's bright, orangey, reddy, isn't too much in your face and I love it.  I love it more than Nude Vibrato and did I mention that I love it?

These are €13.39, so on the more spendy side for a drugstore lip product but once you try them, you'll see how they're different to anything else you'll have tried.  They're one of my favourite affordable lip products in ages and since this post was written last week, I might have picked up Molto Mauve *ahem*.

Have you tried these guys yet?
