Shiseido Lacquer Gloss review, photos, swatches, shades RD305 Lust, OR303 In The Flesh, PK304 Baby Doll

I'm in love ladies.  With a lip product.  Three actually, and I can't pick between them.  I do love lip glosses but it takes something special to get me as giddy as I am about these.

Newly released from Shiseido this spring, the Lacquer Glosses are an 8 strong collection of lip lacquer/lip gloss hybrids and I'm hoping they bring out more shades this year because they're really something special.  I have three shades to show you today so let's get down to business.

L-R: Shiseido Lacquer Gloss RD305 - Lust,  Shiseido Lacquer Gloss OR303 - In The Flesh,  Shiseido Lacquer Gloss PK304 - Baby Doll
Packaging is lightweight and you can see the colour of the product through the tube.  This makes me happy as a lot of the time I like to root in my bag as I'm walking down the street and it makes for easy pickings.  The applicator is flat on both sides and lies flat on the lips when you're applying the product and means you can get precise application.

Speaking of the product, the formula is fantastic.  It's lightweight, not sticky and feels like silk on the lips.  Inspired by Japanese lacquer, each shade has a high gloss shine and the more layers you apply, the more intense the pigmentation.  So you can either go lightly lightly or pack a bit more punch in the colour department.

Shade RD305 Lust is a warm orange toned red that's wearable, flattering and one of those staple reds for me.  It warms up my skin tone nicely and as it's the most vibrant of the three shades, I was thankful for the precise applicator which meant I could get nice clean edges on the lips.  Happy days!

OR303 In The Flesh was made for me.  Although it looks really peachy in the tube, once applied to the lips, it turns into The Perfect Everyday Gloss.  It's slightly pipped the third shade below in being the colour I reach for every day.  It is carried in my handbag, then left on my desk at work, then back into the handbag and because it's not a creamy opaque peach shade which can tend to sit in the lines on the lips, In The Flesh just gives a hint of peachy goodness to the lips along with a lot of shine.

Finally we have PK304 Baby Doll which is a light blue toned pink which makes for a gorgeous and delicate neutral lip with a difference.  One layer gives a slight pinky stain on the lips but the second coat gives more colour and shine.  As I said, this is only very slightly behind In The Flesh in terms of me reaching for it and I really do mean only slightly.  I have a gra for peaches and corals that even my subliminal mind understands!  But Baby Doll is Joanne's favourite and she's seriously considering it for her wedding day.  Ooh I know!  It could be her something borrowed, but then again, I might be a nice sister and get her one for herself.  We'll see how nice she is to me between now and then!

I've worn In The Flesh and Baby Doll pretty much non stop for the past few weeks and they both last a good 4 hours on me.  They're so moisturising and feel like a lip treatment and because of them, my lips are in the best condition ever!

For €25, they're on the spendy end of things.  But are they worth the money?  100% yes in my opinion.  As I said, there are 8 shades in total and if they bring out an orange or bright coral shade, you know I'll be all over them!

The Lacquer Glosses are on counters now and you need to go check them out and thank me later!

  3. God I love these but no, no, you're costing me a fortune. Had my friend nip into Arnotts and get that Dei Mei cream you receommended as WELL as the Smashbox palette.
AND my weakness is lip glosses/lipsticks. Being a former Avon rep I could indulge my passion for lipsticks so now I have TONS. Doesn't stop me wanting more and wanting THESE ones! Damm u!

By the way the Slimming World is working big time for you, your face is so slim in these photos. Well done!!
