Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint & Precision Shaping Pencil

Ah eyebrows, they keep sweat out of your eyeballs and frame your face.  Two grand jobs don't you think?  I have scaldy little brows and rarely get them done professionally because I've not much there to begin with as it is.  So while Anastasia Brow Wiz is my Holy Grail brow product, that doesn't stop me from trying new ones and a couple of months ago, I found myself at the Soap and Glory stand in Boots and picked up Archery after somehow remembering Emma from Fluff and Fripperies had blogged about it yonks ago.

This dual ended brow product has a really fine felt tip on one end which you use to give the illusion of hairs with each stroke and the other end houses a waxy pencil, to give shape to the brows.  I like the multi functionality of it but a bugbear of mine is that the pencil end doesn't click shut.  And you beauty junkies will know the satisfaction and importance of having something that clicks shut.  It gives you knowledge that the lid won't come off in your bag and the product won't dry out.  So S&G, fix the lid thanks a mill.

I like the felt tip marker end and the colour matches my brows perfectly.  I use it to colour in any sparse areas and it makes it easy to get a really precise shape to the end of my weeny brows.  The only thing is that it dries out really quickly, so I'll have one brow done and I'll need to put the lid back on, stand it upright for a few minutes so all the product goes into the nib and do the other brow.  Not ideal when you're in a rush in the morning.

For me, the pencil end isn't as good as the marker end.  I think I'm so used to the tiny pencil from Anastasia's Brow Wiz which makes it super easy to colour in, add shape and definition to the brow.  The S&G pencil just feels chunky compared to Brow Wiz. I feel like I overdraw the brows when I use it and it's hard to get a defined shape, especially at the arch and tail of the brow.  The colour matches me great though and when I can't my hands on the Brow Wiz, I do use it.

I think I'd like it better if it had the marker on one end and a spooly brush on the other end as I do like to brush through my wild brows after I finish with them.  Or a smaller pencil on one end and the spooly on the other.  So basically what I'm saying is that I wish it was like the Brow Wiz!

At €13, it's not massively expensive, but I think I'll keep shelling out the extra fiver for the Brow Wiz.

So tell me, if you've tried this and liked it, have you used Anastasia's Brow Wiz too?  Am I being too picky or have I found my Holy Grail and no other brow product will ever compare to it?

  1. I've tried this and it was ok but can't hold a candle to my beloved Shu Uemura brow pencil!

  3. My best friend swears by this product, she has used it exclusively for ages! I'm not too keen on it though, I think it's very overpriced and you can get much cheaper products that do a better job!! Plus the non-clicking lid was a big turn off I agree...

    CLICK GODDAMIT!! :P

    1. Yeah, I think you're right, the more brow products I try, the more I keep going back to it and it's the only one I've ever repurchased
