What's on my face #1

I thought it was high time I start taking note of the makeup I wear when I'm heading out to launches or events.  This is because I tend to use the same things all the time and need to shake things up a bit! So for the next while, I'll do my best to try new things and show them in action.  In saying that, last night I was in a mad rush as I'd just over an hour to come home, feed Bailey, have a shower and put my makeup on before running out the door to meet Joanne.  So I decided to use what I know and trust because time was short!

Products used:
  • Smashbox Liquid Halo foundation Shade 1 - review
  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder - Diffused Light - review
  • Clinique Cheek Pop - Peach Pop - review
  • Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wix - review
  • Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara - review
  • Smashbox Full Exposure Palette - review

I applied a thin layer of the Smashbox Liquid Halo Foundation to even out my skin tone and still let my skin show through.  I love how I can't even see it on my face and it looks like I have grand skin altogether!  A quick application of the Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector helped hide my dark circles and brightened under my eyes which is what I needed before piling on the eye makeup.  Speaking of which, I decided to do a soft brown smokey eye using the warmer matte shades in the Full Exposure palette from Smashbox.  This palette has yet to fail me and I blahddy love it!

I used my trusty Brow Wiz from Anastasia to shape and define my brows before applying a generous coat of the Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde mascara to top and bottom lashes.  I lashed on a layer of my Clinique Cheek Pop in Peach Pop and dusted a light coat of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light which gets rid of any shine on my forehead and schnoz and softens the whole look.  I applied Shiseido Lacquer Gloss in Baby Doll before running out the door in a panic because I was late!

This is one of my go to looks when I want to look put together but with a bit of drama on the eyes.  I wore it to The Bops last night and you'll see it on my visage in a vlog of the night too!

Happy Friday everyone!

  1. You look fab!
Maybe a bit strange, but after reading this I'm considering starting a series in which I each week choose a palette from my stash and use that throughout the week Just have to get some of the stuff I've ordered home first so I can include Naked 3 and a Makeup Revoution palette :p

  3. Beautiful, my skin's in bits at the mo, every foundation makes it look super dry and nothing glides on anymore :-( (all since I started using the new Vichy cream with the retinol). if you can think of a good foundation which doesn't cling to dry patches please let me know x
