5 under €5 - #1

As much as I love a bit of luxury in life, sure who doesn't, there's nothing better than finding a bargain.  There's a reason why our Penney's haul videos are popular and that's because we're not alone!  Joanne and I are both a fan of heading into a shop, handing over paper money and getting lots of change back.  We like to feel the weight of the change in our purses.

Now not all cheap products are created equally, so we're starting a series on the blog showing you our favourite bargains for under a fiver!

Penneys Make Up Bag

I picked up this beaut of a make up bag in Penneys last week while having a peruse of the makeup with Orla from Make Up Over Mind.  It's pink, it's got polkadots and a plastic diamond on the zipper to make it easy to open and close.  It's a decent size for carrying around in your handbag or for travelling and for €3, it was a proper bargain!  They have this style of makeup bag with lots of different patterns, so if polka dots aren't your thing, I'm sure you'll find something.

VO5 Give Me Texture Dry Texturising Spray

Pretty much every dry shampoo I've used in the past was aimed to give me that extra day before having to wash my hair again.  I use them in my roots and that's about it.  But I use the VO5 Give Me Texture Dry Texturising Spray on the lengths of my hair to give that fabulous tousled, textured hair that someone with silky hair like me covets so much.  I know, silky hair sounds great and all but it means that my hair just hangs flat and straight, with no oomph.  I'm loving this stuff and it's making me hold off on trying the Oribe texturising spray that everyone's talking about!  It was on sale at €2.90 when I bought it but is regularly €4.59.  Bargain.

NYC BB Beautifying Blushable Cream Stick

For the last couple of years, NYC's Blushable Cream Sticks have been one of my favourite blushes, especially in the summer.  I love cream blushes when the weather gets warmer and they've released two new shades, one which I was sent and one I bought after trying the first one and loved it!  I'll be giving them their own review very soon as they're absolutely amazing and if you have a face, you need these.  At €3.49 each, I bet you have that much change in your purse now.

Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation

I've blogged about this recently, but had to include it in this post because it's quite possibly the cheapest foundation I've tried and one of the best budget bases I've worn on my visage.  It gives medium coverage, evens out my skin tone, gives a satiny matte finish with a touch of a glow and for my oily face, it's pretty fantastic!  €3.49 is all it'll cost you.  I know!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I know, I've blogged about this bottle of amazingness before and have mentioned it in some videos, but I couldn't let the inaugural 5 under €5 post happen without mentioning the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.  It's Holy Grail Status because it takes off my makeup easily, effectively, without burning my eyeballs, doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped or tight and the bottle is huuuuuuge!  You'll need to shop around for this because it's on offer now in Boots for €3.49, being regularly €6.49, but Penneys has it all the time for around €3.59.  Obsessed with this stuff it's not even funny.

So those are my first set of products for under a fiver!  And there are lots more where they came from, so stay tuned for our next instalment!

  1. I've heard such good things about those NYC blushes I have to try!

  2. I love that Micellar water, I picked it up by accident one day thinking it was the L'oreal one in a different bottle but it's much better! Will have to try that foundation and the blushes too.

  3. who doesn't love a bargain in fairness. just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's lacking in quality

  4. brilliant :) I love the Garnier Water its my HG now. I havent tried the wet n wild foundation yet :) :)
