Lancome Hypnose Naturals Collection - La Base Paupieres Pro & Le Sourcils Pro photos, swatches, makeup look

If there's one thing to make a beauty junkie feel her age, it's to tell her that something, in this case Lancome's Hypnose mascara is 10 years old.  Seriously, I don't remember it coming out when I was 12... *ahem*...

To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Lancome have brought out their Hypnose Naturals Collection with three new matte Hypnose palettes, four limited edition double ended brow/highlight pencils, and six new eyeshadow bases.

I've two of the products to show you today and they're two that have rarely been off my face in the past few weeks.  Le Sourcil Pro in Chatain, the second lightest of the four brow/highlight pencils, is one of those handy multifunctional products that I like as you know I carry around a lot in my makeup bag.

One end houses the matte brow crayon that matches me perfectly and because it's a hard pencil, the colour stays put all day and I can get quite a defined shape despite the chunky size of the pencil itself.  The other end has the brow highlight that I use under the arch of my brows and at the inner corner of my eyes, to help brighten things up a bit.  The creamy texture applies easily and it has the faintest sheen to it that makes it look like I'm not wearing makeup at all, but lifts the brow naturally and makes me look more awake!  This is limited edition and will set you back €21.50.

I need to prime my eyelids every day otherwise it's crease city, so I was eager to get stuck into La Base Paupieres Pro in the shade 06, Sienne, the darkest of the six shades available.  The lighter shades will even out your lids and give you a clean canvas to start packing the colour on, and you can also wear them on their own, which is what I've been doing with Sienne, but I've also been using it as a base for any neutral makeup looks too.

The formula works best for me when I use my finger to apply it because it starts off slightly tacky, giving me time to work it into the skin and blend any harsh edges away.  It sets within a minute or two and you can either leave it like that, or apply shadow over the top.  When I wear it as a base under shadow, it lasts a good 6-7 hours before it starts creasing on my eyelids, but let the record show, I've extremely oily lids!

My favourite way to wear it though is on it's own with nothing over the top.  It defines my eyes, making them look even greener and because it has a matte finish, it makes it look so natural.  I love wearing it paired with a brown liner on the waterline to give the most perfect 2 minute natural eye that lasts all day.  This will set you back €23 and is on counters now along with the rest of the collection.  The formula is waterproof so now that summer is coming, so too will the monsoon rain so it's always nice to know your makeup will stay in place!

This has been my go to look recently and I love how easy it is.  The Hypnose Naturals Collection is on counters now, so go on and have a look like a good child.

  2. The eyebrow pencil looks almost exactly like a limited edition eyeliner + highlight duo from Kiko (I think it's vivid eye kajal) ;)
