Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Mascara review, before & after photos

It's been a while since I was bowled over by a Maybelline mascara but it was worth the wait for The Colossal Go Extreme mascara!

It has what they call a power brush which is tapered at both ends and the part where it's wider is where it hits the outer lashes when you apply it, meaning it deposits more product there and you'll get longer, more voluminous lashes.  I'm obsessed with making my eyes look wider by applying lots of mascara to those outer lashes and The Colossal Go Extreme mascara takes the work out of it for me.  The tapered tip meant that I could get the small lashes on the inner corner without any difficulty and I was able to leave no lash untouched!

The strengthening formula is enriched with collagen to thicken and lengthen the lashes and has pro-keratin to strengthen and plump the lashes without any clumping.  But that's enough of the scientific jargon.  Does it work?  To the photos!
Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Mascara - one coat
One coat gives fanned out, wispy, curled, volumised lashes that I'd be happy to wear to work, which I have been doing.  But I wanted to put it to the test and see if two coats would give me any clumping.

Not a bit of clumpage to be seen!  As with all mascaras, don't let the first coat dry before you apply the second coat.  The bristles allow me to comb through the lashes easily and the second coat gives even more volume, particularly to the base of the lashes.  I love when a mascara does that because it gives the illusion that I'm wearing liner when I'm not and if it takes that extra step out of my morning makeup routine, then that's fine by me!  It comes off easily with my trusty Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water without any extra rubbing or tugging on the eyes.

Maybelline's The Colossal Go Extreme mascara is on counters now and for €10.79, it's definitely worth checking out.  Have you tried this yet?  What's your favourite affordable mascara at the moment folks?

  2. Karen your eyelashes are just the loveliest, flutteriest eyelashes I have ever seen. You always MAKE me buy new mascaras but I'll never achieve the same fluttery effect!
