A couple of weeks ago, I found myself watching Monsieur Claude Defresne, makeup artist extraordinaire for Clarins and person who literally casts a spell over a room full of bridies watching him at work, do his business with the Ladylike collection. On counters now, this collection is sophisticated, grown up and understated, like my good self. I wish!
They've brought out the new Ombre Matte shadows (€22.00), with a cream to powder formula that applies easily, blends even easier and is a joy to use. I've used two of the six shades on offer and am already getting so much use out of Rosewood.
They've also revamped the eyebrow palette, Kit Sourcils Pro (€41.00) and you'll see me using the lightest of the three powders on my brows before setting it all into place with the wax and it's a great little palette for someone who's on the go. Joining the black 3 dot liner is the limited edition brown version (€25.00) and it's a shame they won't be keeping this permanently because it gives a much more natural look on me compared to the black one. I shall use this until it dries out on me!
I also use the new True Radiance Foundation (€31.00) in a shade that's too dark for me but I still make it work! It gives a fabulous glow to the skin while giving light to medium coverage and I think this will be a good one for the autumn and winter when our skin can tend to be a little lacklustre and this is a lovely moisturising foundation if your skin is on the dry side.
I used the Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base (€25.00) to prime the lids for the Ombre mattes before sweeping the Blush Prodige over my cheeks in Tawny Pink (€33.00) - a dusty pink with fine shimmer running through it, giving a natural pop of colour on the cheeks while bringing light to my skin. We need light on the skin thanks very much.
I used two of the five Rouge Eclat lipsticks (€23.00) on offer to show you what they're like. Chestnut Brown is exactly that, a light brown/plum shade that's perfect if you want to try a slightly darker lip in the autumn but don't want to go too dark. But my favourite of the two is Candy Rose and it goes perfectly with the eyes and cheeks.
So make sure you check out the wee video showing everything in action and let me know if you like these kinds of videos! As I said above, the Ladylike collection is on counters now.
