We were away last week and decided to conduct our first photoshoot. (Photoshoot = me grabbing Joanne and telling her to look towards the light, pulling her hand this way, telling her to hold the earring that way). But we had a ball and we want to do more. We've got some of our favourite pieces this summer that you're going to want to check out before they're gone!
During the summer months, you'll rarely find me without a pair of shades on and yes, I'm one of those people who use them as hairbands too! I knew I'd be picking up a couple of pairs in Spain but wanted to get some cheap and cheerful sunnies just in case I couldn't find anything in Alicante. These two pairs from Penneys are not only cheap, both being under the €3 mark, but polarised lenses are very much on trend this year, so I couldn't help picking these ones out with it's turquoise lenses. The tortoiseshell shades are gorgeous and make sure you pick up a little case to protect them in your handbag.
We love a bit of Stella and Dot here at Lovely Girlie Bits and we were delighted to get these two gorgeous pieces in the post recently.
The Tropicana Chandelier earrings are bladdy gorgeous dahling and even better to help the justification of a purchase, they can be worn four ways! By unclasping each section and combining them in different ways, they are an over packer's dream because this one pair will do you for your whole holiday. I don't know about you, but I like to bring options when I'm heading away, so this is perfect for me.
The Colourblock Cuff manages to be colourful and dainty while still packing a punch in the statement department. The metal studs adds interest to this delicate bracelet and you can wear it on it's own like Joanne has here in the photo below, or stack it with other pieces. And it totally goes with the earrings. We like a bit of matchy matchy. I have to admit, we're both loving yellow this season and Joanne bought a couple more yellow bits when she was away.
Joanne picked up these next three necklaces a few weeks ago in H&M and she's always been a massive fan of delicate pieces which she either layers together or wears on their own. The first two are so dainty and were around the €5 mark and set off her tan (burnt chest) perfectly.
This white and gold number works well with a tan and is more suitable for chunky necked bridies like myself.
Both Joanne and I got this next necklace at a Littlewoods launch a few weeks ago and I'm obsessed with it. Ok, so it's got just the right amount of chunkiness to make it a statement necklace, but isn't overly chunkalicious that I feel like I'm being weighed down. It's blingy without blinding you in the eyeballs and is neutral enough to wear with lots of things. Expect to see this a lot in videos and in outfit photos because it's fabulous and I'm glad we both have our own or else we'd have sisterly issues.
The statement handbag
Joanne got this fantastic handbag at the Littlewoods launch and I spent my time in Spain trying to find something similar. It's gone from their website but I've got my eyes peeled for it's return and I shall wait patiently. Ok I won't be patient, but can you see why I love it so much?
It's structured, is the perfect shade of yellow without being too gaudy, has black trimming around the edges to give it that extra somethin' somethin' and the gold hardware is the cherry on the top. We're big fans of cross body bags and this can be worn over the shoulder too. Because it's a small enough bag, be sure to bring a little purse like this one from Penneys or else it'll be squash central trying to fit a big wallet, your phone and any makeup you'll need for the day.
See anything you like?
