Clarins Aquatic Treasures collection review, photos, swatches!

You know it's summer when Clarins releases another beautiful collection.  Aquatic Treasures is on counters now and true to form, it's gorgeous!  It's a well edited collection and if you're one who likes a bit of colour in the summer, or you favour a bronzed glow or luminous complexion, it's one you need to check out.  I was sent these three pieces to play with and am finally organised enough to give you my full review!

The Aquatic Treasures Waterproof Eye Pencil in Aquatic Green (€19) is a must have, hands down.  Seriously.  You need it.  Applied to the water line, it gives a hit of colour to a neutral eye and a bit more interest to the overall look.  Teamed with a golden bronze eye though, it's eyeball perfection.  It's long lasting yet removes easily and I can't get enough of it.  For fans of coloured liner on the upper lid, this applies smoothly without much tugging or dragging and once I old my lid stationary (not tight), I can get a gorgeous clean line that works beautifully with lashings of mascara.

Speaking of mascara, the Aquatic Treasures Truly Waterproof Mascara in Aquatic Green (€26) is a fantastic little number for those of us who want to dip our toes into coloured mascara, but don't want to go too wild.  In some lights it looks teal and in others it can look almost forest green in colour and if the thoughts of coloured mascara frightens you to your core, be not afraid for it looks lovely and soft on.  It adds a little somethin' somethin' to the lashes where people won't notice right away, but chances are you'll find them looking closely at your eyes with a puzzled look.  Say nothin' to them and let the guess!    In the photos above, I've applied it over a layer of black mascara because we know I like defined lashes and need a black base first to thicken things up and frame my eyes right at the roots of the lashes.

The Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact (€38) is beautiful and Clarins never fail to impress with their powdery offerings every year.  Let us take a moment to admire the packaging...

Inside we have a bronzer that's split up into four different shades so you can do a grand swirl with a big brush to give a light wash of bronzification to your skin, or you can do some more precise contouring with the darker shades and a smaller brush.  I've even used it on my eyes in the photos above when I applied the liner on the top lash line.  As expected, the bronzer is silky soft, finely milled and applies easily to the skin with minimal fussing required.

Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact before & after
The Aquatic Treasures collection is on counters now and these three bits are limited edition.  My pick of the trio?  It has to be the eyeliner.  You need it.  The same goes for the bronzer.  This will last me for ages and for pale folk like me, I can apply to my heart's content knowing that I can't make a mess of it.

Will you be picking any of these three up?
