Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil - Fab Orange - the perfect summery shade!

It's the age old tale where I buy a product, forget I have it, discover it while looking for something else, fall head over heels in love with it, forget about the original product I'd been looking for, live happily ever after.  The end.

Maybelline's Color Drama Lip Pencil in Fab Orange is a must have, hands down!  Any time I stick a selfie online wearing it, people go wild for it and I have to admit, I've gone a bit wild for it myself.

Fab Orange isn't as orange as the name would suggest, but is more of an orangey red.  This is my favourite kind of red in the summer.  I've worn it in a couple of videos so far and while I haven't ventured outside the house with it yet, I think this will be the shade that I bite the bullet with, so stay tuned for that!

You can see in the photos just how pigmented this is.  There's no tugging or dragging on the lips when applying it and if I keep it nice and sharp (using a brilliant little sharpener from Essence), I can get a really nice crisp line.  The finish isn't glossy, but isn't matte either.  It gives more of a soft sheen that's so flattering on the lips and the pure creaminess of the formula means that this will not dry out your lips whatsoever and I say that as someone with constantly dry lips.

This stays put for hours, only getting a bit messy at the corners of my mouth, probably more to do with me talking so much in videos, but still, longevity is second to none.  As it fades, a light stain remains on the lips and I'm ready to reapply it.  I haven't tested it out eating or drinking yet, but again, I will do so when I wear it in public!

This will be the best €6.99 you'll spend lads because Fab Orange really is fab.  It works perfectly with my skin tone, makes me feel confident and look put together.  And when I wear it with black and white stripes, it's a match made in heaven!  Go get it.  This is one of my favourite lip products of the year so far hands down.

Have you tried the Color Drama Lip Pencils yet?  What's your favourite shade?

  1. Ooh this looks lovely. That colour is gorgeous on you.
I am usually put off by pencils because I either imagine a jumbo lip liner or a sheer balmy type thing - which several chubby lip products I've tried have been. The pigmentation of this looks impressive and I like that it's not matte either. Going to have to wander into Boots on my lunch break today.... The triple points event is on too so I guess I have to spend €40...

  4. I might just have to pick this up to wear on a night out this weekend. I’ve been after an orangey red for a while now and have read great things about this range from Maybelline!

  5. I had one of these pencils (not that shade) but had to get rid of it as I had no sharpener big enough to pare it! Any suggestions for a decent sharpener that will fit these?!

They've a darker red shade and a wine shade that'd be gorgeous on you. They're so worth the €6.99 price tag!

If you have access to the brand Essence, they have a double ended sharpener for€1.79 or thereabouts. It even has a little lid and one side fits this one perfectly and the other side fits normal sized liners perfectly too, bargain alert!
